For the history enthusiasts, visit Haddon Hall (8.5 miles), a fantastically preserved medieval manor house. Keen walkers and cyclists will enjoy the abundance of footpaths and trails nearby, including the Monsal Trail, which can be accessed at Bakewell (6.5 miles) and follows a disused railway line that was closed in the late 1960s.
