Guests say

Bramble Cottage in Holmfirth is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the property's charm. The location, while scenic, has steep access which may not suit everyone. The owners are commended for their hospitality, though there is a mention of parking challenges for larger vehicles.

Reviewers consistently mention that the cottage is spotlessly clean, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is celebrated for its great views and proximity to local walks and the town. However, the steep access and narrow lanes are noted as potential challenges, slightly affecting the score.

Guests describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and homely, suggesting a high level of comfort. The absence of a bath is noted but does not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

The property is well-appointed with necessary facilities, and guests feel at home. There is a minor issue with parking for larger vehicles, but this does not greatly impact the overall experience.

While the reviews are positive about the owners' hospitality and the overall experience, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

Holmfirth is in the heart of the Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine, there is more to Holmfirth than Compo and Nora Battye’s stockings! The ‘Picturedrome’ venue attracts famous bands and is in the centre of the town. The pelotons from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire have both been through this town. It is in these hills where cycling’s triple Olympic Medalist Ed Clancy grew up. Holmfirth also has a swimming pool and fitness centre, parks, shops and restaurants. The people are friendly, the streets are quaint and the scenery is breathtaking. The Peak District National Park with its moors, dales, forests, lakes and reservoirs is also accessible. The Upper Derwent Valley is only a short drive away. Slightly further is Chatsworth, the stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and isclose to the market town of Bakewell, the home of Bakewell Puddings. Comfortable and had everything we needed. Thanks

The owners have done a superb job equipping it with everything you need. The location is great too with a parking space for the cottage itself. We actually didn't move the car all week, and found some wonderful walks as well as being close to Holmfirth itself. We highly recommend Bramble cottage, and can't wait to revisit.
