We arrived at the cottage to be met by beautiful fresh flowers in an amazing lounge with log burner.

Into the immaculate kitchen to find fresh bread and butter milk and honey jam and marmalade cake and biscuits waiting for us. What a special touch. Lovely. The cottage lacked nothing. The WiFi was excellent with plenty of t.v channels. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need including a washing machine and full size cooker. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Upstairs the bathroom with good powerful shower over the bath again was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable too. Towels and bed linen were of the highest standard as was everything else. Then the hot tub. WOW, What a bonus this was. Fired by logs it was amazing to sit in if of a night with a glass of wine after a day out walking . The area is beautiful as well, Plenty to do Lots of walks .Plenty of eateries in Holmfirth. We walked down about 20 mins and got a taxi back for a mere £4. Rod and Julie were great hosts nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend. Brilliant weeks stay. Margaret and Tom Cheshire

A warm welcome to Geraldene with seasonal gifts and beautiful festive decorations.

Just the right amount of decoration to make you enjoy the touches and very tasteful ones too. We settled in quickly and found everything had been thought of in each room. We had a comfy bed, cosy living room, fully equip kitchen and a spacious bathroom for a cottage. We enjoyed the log fire and hot tub which added to the holiday vibe. We had some lovely walks in the area and the enjoyed the beautiful views Homfirth has to offer. The town centre is a manageable walk away and has enough to occupy a few hours. The pub around the corner is nice. We had a drink in there early new years eve. A quaint and quiet area which is perfect for relaxing in. We'd recommend and hope to be back. Rob and Julie are the perfect hosts.

Geraldene was a lovely cottage to spend 5 nights in.

We had very clear instructions and information before arriving, and arrived to find the cottage spotless, with some complementary bread, jams and cakes, which was a lovely touch. The village it’s in is quiet, but has a Co-Op and pub on the doorstep. We walked down to Holmfirth a few times which was easy to do (about 20/25 minutes) and had plenty of places to eat and drink. There are beautiful walking routes from the cottage, and plenty to do a short drive away. The hot tub was a great addition. We had an issue where the power for jets on the hot tub had tripped, but Rob helped us over the phone straight away to find the plug and reset it. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay - thank you.

      Absolutely wonderful stay at ‘Geraldene’.

Such a delightful cottage we were relaxed from the minute we arrived. We were greeted by a lovely welcome pack including homemade bread, cakes and in the fridge we found a lovely selection of jams, butter and milk. We really felt that the owners had gone above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Every detail in the property is thought of, bathrobes, slippers , fabulous toiletries! The kitchen is so well stocked and flasks are provided for walking. We felt like we were in a 5 star hotel but with all the home comforts you might wish for. The surrounding area is beautiful, we walked for miles and the local pub is very friendly too!

      "Geraldene" was a fabulous find.

The owners have done a wonderful job in making the cottage so cosy, and we enjoyed the tasty welcome pack of milk, fresh bread, brownies, shortbread and spreads. Even though the evenings weren't too chilly, we enjoyed making use of the woodburner stove. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of essentials for preparing meals, and also has a great filter coffee machine. The woodburner hotub was a lovely bonus, for relaxing in the evenings. The village of Wooldale is lovely and peaceful, with a pub and shop on the doorstep. Holmfirth is close by for eating out / takeaways The owners were so friendly and very helpful.
