    Ilkley Holiday Cottages

The spa town of Ilkley is a postcard-perfect location characterised by its stone and whitewashed buildings, brightly planted flower beds and clear skies. Well located for connectivity to nearby towns and cities, Ilkley’s heritage as a spa town makes it a popular tourist destination for those seeking some more traditional architecture and quieter streets than other local neighbourhoods.

Although no longer a health destination as it was intended, holiday cottages in Ilkley still prove popular among tourists. Surrounded by moorland and famous for the Ilkley Moor, there’s countryside and walking routes right on the doorstep, alongside plenty of opportunities in the town centre to unwind. Vintage tea rooms offer traditional afternoon tea and small independent retailers sell everything from gifts to clothes to second-hand books. There’s an annual literature festival held in the town, along with other events throughout the summer.

Snaptrip’s Ilkley holiday cottages include properties with swimming pools, high-speed WiFi connection, Sky TV, fire pits and pet-friendly facilities. Search using feature filters if you have something specific in mind for your break away. We have thousands of holiday homes to choose from throughout the UK and a friendly customer service team on hand, should you need them.

We had a great stay at the Wheatley, it is a beautiful newly renovated property that has all you need for a great stay.

It looks even nicer in person and the photos don’t do it justice. It’s located on the edge of the lovely town of Ilkley with its many shops, great park and river and close to a lovely Italian restaurant just a 5min walk away. The property has lovely views and a morning coffee looking over the fields was much enjoyed! The house was really clean and the beds were made up to suit our group with the children having twin beds and the adults having King size. All the rooms were lovely and big with ample storage for our stay. The bathrooms were modern and clean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for your stay, tons of kitchen wear and a fab little coffee machine also! It was a great spot for some lovely days out in Yorkshire and we would all highly recommend the Wheatley!

“Middleton View is a lovely, spacious and welcoming place. The bedrooms are well presented and spacious, even the smallest single room is plenty big enough. The downstairs layout lends itself to family gatherings either relaxing in the lounge or enjoying a meal around the large dining table. We didn't make much use of the garden but it is like an extra room particularly in the warm weather. Sheltered and well maintained it would also be great for those with young children. We were using the house as a base from which to attend larger family gatherings in celebration of my father's 90th birthday so didn't do much exploring of the area. There are many places of interest nearby though and Ilkley itself has a lot to offer in terms of eating and drinking places. All in all a great holiday home.”

Many nice features. Beds are comfortable, no shortage of hot water, the garden is loverly. Not so nice is it is not clean. Black mildew round front door. Dirt and cobwebs in corners and behind curtains. Back corners of cupboards with insect droppings and dirt. Unacceptable was 3 inches of brown toilet water in the toilet cleaner brush holders that dripped off the brushes as it sat used. Disgusting….. I didn’t get the feeling that the hosts cared if our experience is a great experience but that we were just income for them. My advice. Put yourself in the renters shoes and go the extra mile, furthermore you need new cleaning crews and someone should check behind them. I will not recommend or return to the house.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Wheatley.

Our first impressions were great as we walked into a lovely and very warm house. Everything was very clean. The furniture and beds were comfortable and the fire is lovely to have on in the evening. The house is about a half hour walk from the centre of Ilkley and there is a walk directly up the hill to the Moor. There are also buses and the train station at Ben Rhydding is literally 5 minutes walk. We had one fussy teenage girl who stayed in the top room and one 11 year old boy who loved having a double bed all to himself. They absolutely loved the moor and climbing on all the rocks. It is a special place close to my heart, so it did my the world of good to be there. Thanks for having such a nice house.

The location and house were great overall.

I would come back. There were two minor things I mentioned to Ryan but didn't hear back: 1. We didn’t find any cutlery in the kitchen. This was inconvenient when we had already cooked dinner. Also a bit surprising because the kitchen was well equipped otherwise. 2. The fuse for the circuit on the ground floor tripped on our last evening. The lights in the kitchen and living room area didn’t work after that. It happened when it was raining outside and we turned on the lights in the conservatory area. We weren’t able to reset the fuse ourselves. Thanks for having us otherwise.
