Outside has a brick-paved and gravelled area to the front of the cottage with furniture and a barbecue which overlooks the farmland. The property has access to a hard tennis court.

It is within driving distance of the historic cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester. Wilton House and Longleat Safari Park are also nearby, as well as the beaches and yachting marinas of the South Hampshire and Dorset coastline.

Rockbourne itself has its own Roman Villa, trout fishery and a local pub The Rose and Thistle. Nearby is Fordingbridge which has the medieval Great Bridge, with seven graceful arches, and is a major feature of the town.
