Guests say

Guests are charmed by Ossco's stunning views, warm family home feel, and its proximity to beaches and coastal paths. The property's spacious garden and the inclusion of an Aga are frequently appreciated. While some guests mention the need for updates and minor maintenance, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment, with many expressing a desire to return.

The property generally maintains good cleanliness, though there are isolated mentions of an odd smell and ants, which suggest room for improvement. The presence of mouse poison indicates proactive pest control, but may unsettle some guests.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, privacy, and access to local attractions. It is considered one of the property's strongest points, contributing significantly to the guests' enjoyment.

Comfort is well-regarded due to the property's cozy atmosphere and warm family home vibe. However, several guests note that the mattresses could be improved, suggesting that comfort could be enhanced with better bedding.

Facilities are generally satisfactory, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample entertainment for children. Maintenance issues such as decking in need of repair, tricky locks, and non-functioning toilet flushes have been noted, indicating a need for attention to detail.

The property's thoughtfulness is reflected in the welcome treats and the provision of toiletries, although the necessity of the latter is questioned. It's worth noting that such gestures are appreciated but may vary with each stay.

The surrounding National Trust coastline is accessible via the nearby public footpath leading down to Lundy Bay, a sheltered cove with sandy beaches at low tide. Polzeath beach is only a short drive away and a favourite spot for surfers of all ability, with beach side cafes and restaurants as well as shops and galleries. Sailing, waterskiing, and inflatable rides take place on the sheltered Camel Estuary with dinghy hire or tuition found at Rock. The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Loved watching the kids run free and the waves roll in. The house was the perfect space for my Dads 80th celebrations with 2 older couples plus 2 younger with 4 kids. Brilliant location above Lundy bay with great walks around the Rumps and Polzeaths amenities down the road. Thank you.

Nice and easy to access the coast path. Couple of things that could be improved in our opinion…Main bedroom upstairs would benefit from new mattress (very lumpy) an upgrade with the electric cleaner would be a definite bonus, cordless would be so much better, there is a lot of hard floor surface to keep clean.

The presence of owner’s personal items and mementos added warmth and character. We enjoyed the access to secluded beaches and coastal paths , but what will remain with us above all are those stunning uninterrupted views of the sea and headlands . A special place . Kevin and Alison Tebbit
