Guests have had a delightful experience at Kirland, praising its well-equipped, spacious interiors and comfortable furnishings. The property's peaceful rural setting is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions, and the beautiful gardens are a highlight. Some minor cleanliness issues were noted, but overall, the stay was enjoyed, with many looking forward to returning.
Most guests found Kirland clean and comfortable. However, there were isolated comments about dust in kitchen drawers and a fridge that needed cleaning, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness standards.
The location is highly regarded for its quiet, rural charm and good access to local sites like Padstow, Tintagel, and Newquay. The proximity to a farm shop and the ease of reaching beaches and towns from the A39 are also appreciated.
Comfort is consistently highlighted, with guests mentioning comfortable beds, a warm house, and ample space. The presence of log burners adds to the cosy atmosphere, making Kirland a comfortable retreat.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and modern bathrooms. The spacious dining area and enclosed garden are positives. However, some decor is considered dated, and there was a mention of a leak during a storm, indicating some maintenance issues.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

We had a lovely stay at Kirland. We arrived a day late due to the awful conditions caused by Storm Bert. On arrival we found that water was dripping through the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. After calling the owner/ property manager, they promptly sent a very nice local builder to assess the situation and he returned the next day to fix the problem. Thank you for your speedy response to this. We hope there is no lasting damageâ¦.. Storm Bert certainly made his presence known in Cornwall. However it didnt dampen our spirits nor the wonderful time we had at this beautiful house. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious, with every utensil you could possibly need. A very social space for all. The lounge was well laid out with comfortable furniture and 2 lovely log burners. Logs were plentiful and free. Upstairs all the bedrooms were well laid out with very comfortable beds and pillows, and the bathrooms are all modern, the hot water was plentiful which is important when several people wish to shower simultaneously. The gardens are super with lots of birds and other wildlife. Our 2 dogs loved the stream at the bottom of the garden!! We visited the farm shop at the top of the lane where they serve lovely coffee and cake as well as breakfasts and lunches, and the shop is well worth a walk to. Kirland is within easy reach of local beaches and Port Isaac, Boscastle etc and its close proximity to the A39 means nowhere is that far. All in all we had a fantastic week at Kirland and would definitely like to return if you will share your lovely house with us again. Thank you.

We enjoyed spending time in the beautiful gardens. Can't fault it. We are returning next year.

Good location to explore Padstow/Tintagel/Polzeath & Newquay, with 20 - 40 minute drives all of these were in easy reach. Clean modern bathrooms & beds were very comfortable. Property decor in other areas was dated especially in the lounge. We ended up spending all our time in the kitchen dinner as the tv was newer but also because one of the sofas in the lounge was feather & there were white feathers sticking to everything I donât normally have problems with anything feather but the lounge seemed to affect my asthma which I can only assume was down to the feathers. Probably a note to the cleaning company that does the change over is we had to clean the fridge before using it so worth making sure this is included in the change over clean. That aside we did have a lovely stay & the gardener who came one day was a lovely chap. We would stay again.
