About this property

Enjoy Swanage and explore the picturesque Isle of Purbeck from this exquisite cottage that was once home to a quarryman. Sleeping just three guests, and welcoming a delighted dog as well, the enchanting, two-bedroom stone retreat, which looks out over the rolling Dorset countryside, has been beautifully restored. Approximately 1 mile from the centre of town and the sandy beach, it is well positioned for coastal and country walks.

Wander inside to find yourselves in an immaculate lounge with a stylish finish. Fire up the wood burner in here on autumn and winter days to bring a cosy glow to the space. Choose a book from the shelf or watch the Smart TV while you relax on the comfortable seating. Take a step up to make your way through to the airy kitchen/diner. Prepare delicious meals for your small party then gather around the table. Open the top of the stable door on bright summer days. There is also a utility room in this part of the cottage. Make your way up to the first floor to find the bedrooms. These include a king-size with rural views and a single, with an extra single, pull-out. The family bathroom is also up here. Delight in spending warm mornings lingering over coffee in the pretty cottage garden. Have a glass of wine out here in the evening and watch the stars appear above you.

Pack a picnic and venture 4 miles to Studland and its long, golden, dune-backed beach. Catch a heritage steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle, where you can explore the ruins and potter in the shops. Plan a day out to Lulworth Cove, 14.5 miles away, where you can swim and snorkel. Durdle Door, with its rock arch, 16.5 miles away, is also a lovely place to visit.

The cottage was cosy and comfortable and we liked the option to sit out in the garden. The location is ideal - it was nice to have a parking place outside, be near to the town and be close to places for nice walks. Also, the day we went on the Swanage Railway we were able to walk across the fields to Herston Halt Request Stop Station.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Only downside was traffic noise when we left the window open at night (we had particularly hot weather). Would definitely stay again.

This is a nice cottage in a fantastic location. However the cottage is advertised with a garden which the grass hadn't been cut for at least a month .We had to contact original cottages about this as we had a dog .They were brilliant and had a gardener round within 2 days . The tv is very small and the sofa isn't that comfortable. The cottage could do with an iron and better storage for food .Especially if you are there for a week or more holiday. The beds were comfortable but the blind in the small bedroom was broken and couldn't be pulled up so this room was very dark all the time .We had a lovely holiday but we don't feel that the new pricing is value for money .
