While some guests find the property cosy and well-appointed, others note issues with noise, maintenance, and space.
The property's cleanliness has mixed reviews, with some guests satisfied and others noting stained carpets and areas needing attention. The upcoming carpet replacement indicates responsiveness to cleanliness concerns.
The location is highly praised for its convenience and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests experienced disturbances from passersby at night, which affects the score.
Guests have mixed feelings about comfort; some find the cottage warm and well-sized for a family, while others find the lounge uncomfortable and the noise levels disruptive to a peaceful stay.
Facilities and maintenance issues are a concern, with reports of electrical problems, non-working appliances, and the need for better upkeep. These issues impact the overall experience.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of breakfast and essentials in the fridge. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, guests should consider this a pleasant bonus rather than an expectation.

However I do think we would like to mention a few things with regards to the house we stayed in (for 7 days) this past week as we donât understand how it has an âoutstandingâ rating. We arrrived later in the evening, as we have mentioned to the hostess. We should have received the key code the day before but never did. The hostess apparently did sent it via Sykes Cottages but we never received anything. Sadly the hostess was not reachable that evening and took it took a long time before we were able to enter our cottage. Afterwards we had reasonably good contact with the hostess/owner. The house looks very cute from the outside. Inside itâs really quite small, but that was fine for us. We initially we didnât have any internet (and television) due to a cable been cut during maintainance work outside of the house the week prior (ivy been cut down). This was resolved by day 5 of our stay. The house itself has a few fire hazards. Downstairs there are extentions leads plugged into extention leads for the television. Besides that it really doesnât look nice, itâs also not the best safety choice either. Upstairs in the first bedroom there is a rolled up extention lead that functions as the plug next to the bed. A rolled up extention lead in use is classed as a fire hazard. In the kitchen; the freezer and the oven didnât work. There is a small combi microwave but thatâs really very small. There is also a good size airfryer present. The fridge works but is really very small. The kitchen counter is made of wood strips, which was bend at places. It means you canât put a glass for example on those parts. The overall quality of the house (paintwork, finishing off ect) was poor and some areas flacking off. The carpet (stairs and upstairs) was dirty and stained. I understand this will be replaced soon. However that will be after our stay. The bathroom had some patchwork done, which does not look good. Itâs also has spots of mould/discolouring around the shower and the around the sink. The (only) toilet has a plastic seat. Even though its not nice to give a review like this, we do think its very important to be honest.

Loved the additional history in the welcome book too. Although no parking at property, we used Listley Street car park which was a couple of minutes walk & reasonably priced. Property had everything we needed. Other reviews commented on the noise down the Cartway but this was nothing more than good natured chat of people going home after weekend nights out & was minimal as people walked by. Hosts were excellent and the offer of breakfast at their B&B business up the road was most welcome & delicious! Saved us cooking & cleaning on last morning of our stay. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

On the minus side the lounge is tiny and although there was only three of us we didnât find it comfortable. There seems to be some issues with the electrics non of the bedroom ceiling lights worked the double socket by the Toaster only worked on one outlet and there was a lot of extension leads in all the rooms.I understand that the property is very old but you do worry from the safety aspect. Also the bathroom floorboard need to be screwed down properly if anyone used the bathroom at night the whole house was awake.Bridgenorth is a lovely town and we would return, but not to this property
