Guests say

The Old Chapel receives high praise for its warm, cosy atmosphere and well-executed conversion, providing a comfortable base for exploring the Yorkshire East Coast. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs, powerful shower, and comfortable beds. The property's proximity to walking trails and the coast, alongside its cleanliness and well-equipped nature, contribute to a highly recommended stay.

Guests consistently report that The Old Chapel is spotlessly clean, with only a single mention of a minor oversight. The high standard of cleanliness is frequently commended, contributing to the property's welcoming atmosphere.

The property is celebrated for its ideal location, offering easy access to walking trails, the Trans-Penine Trail, and nearby beaches. The village's friendly atmosphere and proximity to local attractions are well-regarded, although the closure of the village pub and the distance to shops are noted.

The comfort of The Old Chapel is generally praised, with particular mentions of comfortable beds and a cosy setting. Some guests found the lounge furniture a bit low, which slightly affected the overall comfort rating.

Facilities are deemed excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and high-spec amenities. The property's maintenance is also complimented. However, there are occasional comments on the WiFi signal and a desire for additional kitchenware, which slightly impacts the score.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through the welcome packs that many guests mention with gratitude. It is noted, however, that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The only thing we missed was a wee bit of garden space but we knew that before we went. Brilliant stay - thoroughly enjoyed it!

The local shop and pub have ceased trading and the property listing needs amending accordingly. The property was very clean and comfortable, apart from the lounge furniture, as we both found the seating position too low. Facilities and maintenance were very good, although, a range of kitchen saucepans would have been preferable.

Hornsea is only a 10 minute drive away and has a Tesco and some good restaurants and takeaways. The local pub has closed down and there isn’t a shop in the village but it wasn’t a problem for us. We had a wonderful week and look forward to returning.
