The owner of the cottages is such a lovely chap and lives within the grounds and therefore always around to answer any questions. His son also lives within the grounds and is very friendly too. We travelled out to visit different places most days but did stay at the cottage for a day or two. We played the games (provided in the cottage), used the pool, had a little walk to the lake. The pool is fantastic! It is lovely and warm, clean and plenty big enough for 8-10 people. You can book slots to allow your party an hour or two in the pool which we did on a couple of occasions. The pool is a minute or two walk from the cottages and therefore Iâd recommend taking a dressing gown to wear to and from the pool. There are plenty of choices for âdays outâ but they are a good 30 mins drive away. This wasnât a problem for us as we loved the quiet location of the cottage and didnât mind the drives out. The same applies for pubs/restaurants. The closest are a good 20 mins away. Iâd have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to others and would love to return one day.

Spacious, clean and well equipped for our stay. The grounds were well kept and we enjoyed exploring, the pool was warm, we used it daily! The owners were very helpful and friendly, also being dog friendly accommodation was great. It made a really good base for getting out and about in the area, but equally we enjoyed the peace and quiet Maesgwynne offers when we weren't going out. We were sad to come home - and look forward to visiting again!
