The delightful town of Holywell nearby comprises one of the seven wonders of Wales, the 7th century St Winefride’s Well is a point of interest and well worth a visit during your stay, Its beautiful stone walls and unique shape are a marvel to behold. For other interesting attractions around the area, Basingwerk Abbey is also nearby and if the sun is shining bright, take a trip to Talacre beach, stroll along the golden sands and admire its pretty lighthouse. The market town of Holywell in North Wales takes its name from the town’s most famous attraction, the 7th century St Winefride’s Well, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales. Holywell boasts over 60 listed buildings, with a variety of late Georgian and Victorian buildings on offer. There is a shopping centre, pubs, restaurants and an open-air market every Thursday. Just one mile away are the 12th century ruins of Basingwerk Abbey within the grounds of the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, with its museum. There are many lovely walking routes in the area, including the open common area at Halkyn Mountain, Pennant Way, Offa’s Dyke and The Welsh Coastal Path.
