Guests say

Ty Ffynnon in Abersoch offers a prime location with easy access to the beach, shops, and local amenities. The property boasts ample space and an enclosed garden, ideal for families and pets. Despite some concerns over cleanliness and maintenance, guests have enjoyed their stay, appreciating the house's central position and the convenience it provides.

Several reviews mention a lack of proper cleaning, with reports of dust, cobwebs, and a need for a deep clean. The presence of mould and dampness was also noted, indicating a significant concern for cleanliness.

The location is highly praised, being central with easy access to the beach, pubs, and shops. It is considered one of the property's strongest features.

Mixed feedback on comfort, with the property described as spacious and comfortable by some, but others report issues with dampness and a mouldy smell in the downstairs bedroom, affecting the overall comfort.

The property is equipped with necessary utensils, but guests were disappointed with the quality and condition of kitchenware and furniture. Maintenance issues such as non-functioning blinds and curtains were also highlighted.

While guests typically appreciate welcome gestures, there is insufficient information to determine if such thoughtfulness is a consistent practice at this property, as only one review mentions the absence of a welcome pack.

When we arrived there were no towels for use in the bathrooms and so we had to spend time and money going out and buying them. Also I had paid £15 for a bed settee to be made up and this wasn't done, which complicated our sleeping arrangements. When I rang in after our return re the above the £15 was refunded but I was told (rather dismissively) that towels were not provided therefore it would not be said that they were. My reply was that if you listen to your recorded phone calls you will see that I am right. Your employee Simon said he would get authorisation to this and call me back but I have heard nothing since.

The house for me was extremely disappointing from the off not been cleaned properly at all dust and cobwebs everywhere and behind furniture on skirting boards and bedside cabinets (got photos ) we had to clean pans and kitchen trays before using. Downstairs wasn't too bad of a space was amazing for us all to be together which is the only saving grace for this house. Downstairs double where do I start mouldy plaster falling off everywhere smelt of moth balls and damp so bad had i to buy stand air fresheners to help smell this did improve it but awful awful smell. So damp in there there were wood lice all over both the bedroom and the shower room walking on floors and up the walls Blinds n curtains didn't work properly in most rooms very grubby mouldy looking and my husband had to spend first morning putting living room curtains back up cos fell off track When opening them . My girls and family were upstairs in the bedrooms and yes we all fit it wonderfully well but all over things missing or grubby or cobwebs. Lots of things in this house needing attention and no way a 4-5 star house we have stayed in much better Sykes cottages over the last 4-5yrs all in abersoch. We paid 1500ish for a wk which is alot but that being said there were 10 people total in there so guess not to bad. If I'd have used this house in height of season n been paying top money I'd be mortified. Even down to the pots pans dishes ect . We like a glass of wine plastic ones only arrghhh seems abit harsh maybe but we like a glass and a nice glass to drink out of. All in all the house is in need of major work to get it up to the rating it's advertised at. The outside space was amazing and huge but again old looking furniture all in need of upgrades. We had a wonderful week together even with all the above being said because the house is very centrally located pub across the rd beach 10min walk shoes 5 min walk but would I risk staying there again with all the damp smelly issues that go with this house NO I'll be looking around again now for something else. One last thing do Sykes go around and look at these houses regularly to check them out because I did read some reviews about the mouldy room before we booked but u think we'll may not be as bad as all that but yes was grim. This house Def needs re rating and price dropping I feel and we came in Feb half term are we the beginning of the season or the end ? Either way to me that house should have had a deep clean every piece of furniture moved and cleaned behind. The cleaning company need to be spoken to because terrible job done . Joanne and family ( I do have photos if anyone needs to see them)

The House was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We were particularly pleased with the enclosed patio and garden which were very safe for our dog. The location of the house is very convenient for the beach , shops , cafes etc and despite being near the centre of the village it was surprisingly quiet. We have already booked a return visit next year.
