What our customers say about their holidays

    • Wolfgang - Verified booking

We had a very pleasant stay at Magpies.

The type of dwelling with high ceilings and individual style of furniture ( but very nicely and tasteful arranged), was different than some holiday accommodation we stayed in the past. As matter of fact it felt very homely and we would have been happy staying there for a longer time. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching a pair of foxes at the top of the garden below. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to work in. Due to some recent spinal problem of mine I hand to sleep some nights in the second bedroom and can confirm that both beds are very comfortable. Despite the road along the park being always fully parked up, we had no problem all week long finding a parking spot right near the house. We liked that the owners send us a welcome email with an pdf giving us advance information about the place. As we like to travel and explore different places, we tend to seldom return , however this could be one of the exceptions. Thank you for providing us with a very nice holiday home. Wolfgang and watching a p

Staying at the Charleston in Seaford, I was awoken in the mornings by frequent banging doors with people coming and going from the property and the internal laundry room next to the bedroom.

My husband approached a young male asking him to turn down the music, playing from his mobile. When the windows were open the smell of pot entered into the accommodation. I questioned wonder this HMO may be homeless accommodation or accommodation for immigrants but have received no response from Sykes regarding this matter. We are frequent cottage holiday lovers with Sykes and other companies but have never come across this type of arrangement before. It is totally unacceptable, in our opinion. There were also items listed as in the accommodation that were not actually there and light switch covers and the bath plug cover which frequently fell off. It is not possible to relax in the bath due to the end of the bath being boxed in.

The flat worked very well for us.

We really liked the decor, care had been taken to make sure that it was clean (much cleaner than our house!) and it location proved perfect for us. We were able to visit family in Bexhill, walk along the seafront to the old town, catch the train to Brighton (station a few minutes' walk), and drive to Eastbourne and Rye. Yes, many thanks, a comfortable spacious flat. Our only minor difficulty was with the key safe when we arrived - it opened after a couple of tries but the inside fell out. We struggled at the end as well. That really is a miinor thing and perhaps the struggle was because of us.

We had a great stay at Magpies.

We found the flat to be very clean throughout, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. We loved the terrace when it was sunny. The beds were comfortable, allowing a good night‘s sleep. The area is quiet and in easy walking distance to cafes on Kings Road & the train station. We always found a parking spot outside. The owners were very responsive when we had some small queries. Overall a great holiday let at a great price. We‘ve already recommended it to friends & family.

When we arrived difficultly getting key from outside key safe as other guests had said.

Although weather was nice some evenings were chilly, no instructions for heating although other guests had said same owner said would put instructions for heating but no instructions. Flat was nice but settee was not comfortable. The entrances before you got into flat were dirty and full of cobwebs not a welcoming sight . The flat was local to places we visited and free parking, that was a good benefit. I would give it 3 star has did have terrace to sit out which was nice.
