My husband, dog and I loved staying here - it was so peaceful, a real getaway in a beautiful setting.
We loved the converted barn, firstly it was bigger than what youâd expect from the photos which is a first. It was extremely clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The welcome gift of Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, butter and milk was lovely. The layout was great - the amazing views of the countryside can be seen from sitting having breakfast at the table, on the sofa watching the Euros or sitting up in bed. We loved watching the resident ducks, chickens and goose in their daily routines particularly the ducks and goose following each other down to the pond every morning for a swim. We kept our dog on a long lead which he was happy with as the one time we let him off he moved closer to where the sheep were in the field below the barn and barked which scared them - he was promptly put back on the lead. We had trips out to Cardigan, Poppit Sands and Cenarth Falls - ensure you have £3 in cash for parking at Cenarth Falls as itâs worth it for a short walk along the river and also the gift shop is really lovely as is the owner who was very chatty and friendly. We went to Poppit Sands on a Monday when it was almost deserted. It is beautiful - well worth a trip. As we were on a relaxing holiday we didnât want to go any further than half an hour away so didnât explore Pembroke which was a bit further afield. We spent several days at the cottage reading and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. We bought all our supplies from Tesco in Cardigan and we have an EV so we paid the extra to charge it at the cottage which was very handy. Regarding earlier reviews, the owners are great and are on hand if you need them but leave you to your own devices. And also some previous reviews mentioned the track to the cottage - it is fine, just take it slow and no problem - the sensors go off due to folliage. Driving to the property there are single track roads through the village which are on an incline - again, take it slow and youâll be fine like we were. It was our first holiday to Wales and we will definitely be back.

A wonderfully clean, comfortable, well appointed cottage.
Everything was there to make our holiday go smoothly from the cottage itself to the really useful well equipped utility room to the fabulous games room. The touches of the fresh flowers to tea, coffee, milk, welshcakes etc were very welcome after a long drive. The owners have thoughtfully put a comprehensive folder together with everything to know and more about your stay and history of the cottages. There is also a good selection of tourist information in the games room. The games room itself is well stocked with books, board games, toys etc. We particularly loved playing table tennis. We have a full size table at home but at present have not the room to use it, so this was great. The nearby castles and gardens are a must to visit as well as Dinefwr House and the National Trust's Gold Mine. All in all a wonderful weeks holiday and will certainly recommend to family and friends. We loved Ollie the cat a 'purrfect' character!

If you are looking for a complete escape, then Blaenffynnon Bach is the place for you - quiet, remote but with every comfort of home.
The cottage has been beautifully and sympathetically converted with plenty of room for a couple, well equipped with lots of storage. Bob and Rowena were lovely hosts - on hand if we had needed them but not intrusive in any way. They left us a lovely welcome basket of a small supply of tea and coffee, eggs and homemade Welsh cakes (the best we had!) and fresh milk and butter in the fridge. They also had a great selection of information about the area, various leaflets and a really handy AA map marked up with the barn's location in relation to various towns and places to visit - all very helpful indeed. Strong wi-fi signal in the property which was wonderful because as you can imagine in the Welsh hills and valleys, mobile reception isn't great! I wouldn't hesitate to revisit Blaenffynnon Bach! Thank you Bob and Rowena

Since I moved to Wales over 20 years ago, I have stayed in many self catering establishments both for work and play !
These cottages are part of a small group of barn conversions with a family home and courtyard. As I extended my stay I ended up staying in 2 of these cottages, all clean everything you could want good WIFi etc, Washing facilities and games room great too. They are named after 3 local Castles, the " garden " for visitors comprises of a large area of older woodland dominated by ancient oak trees large and small, ideal for families and their pets. Gavin and Josie are great hosts and part of that lies with their love of their own 2 Spaniels and they are happy for you to interact with them, which any dog owner would do. The setting, the high standard of accomodation and relaxed surroundings made it one of the best places I have stayed in.

Beautiful, quiet cottage, maintained to a high standard with everything we needed.
The little touches are what made us love it. The little jar of dog biscuits, the Welsh cakes, the pint of milk, couple of beers, tea/coffee, the dining table with flowers, so very welcoming. The info on what to see, the 'how to' book for the cottage, everything was thought of. Comfortable rooms, linen lovely and soft. The separate games room & utility room is a bonus. Such a great base, rural but not too far from the sights. Dog friendly too, with the use of the enclosed paddock is a big plus for us. Thank you Josie & Gavin, the area and property is idyllic, we will definitely return and recommend.
