What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Sanford - Verified booking

Lovely property, very quiet location perfect to relax. The hot tub was ready for our arrival which was great. Couldn't find the hairdryer but a quick text to the owner and they sorted one of theirs for me to borrow as the previous people had pinched the original one! Lovely welcome pack of cakes and Welsh cakes and a little bottle of milk. The bed was comfy and there are plenty of blankets as it does get chilly at night. It does get super warm when the sun is out but there are plenty of fans and once you open the doors and windows it soon cools down. Was great to have an oven and microwave and a big fridge freezer so we could have meals in rather then eat out all the time. The nearest big supermarket is morrisons which is 30 mins away by car in Aberystwyth however there is a nisa just a 5 minute walk across the horse field which had a really good selection of stuff. Abaeraron is a 2 mile walk, it's a nice walk, you can't really walk down the main a437 as there's no path however if you follow the path as far as you can then take a right through the houses there's a path all the way into town, it's not for the faint hearted lol it is a very steep slope for around half a mile. New quay is a 10 minute drive away, it's very small but very pretty. The owners are very welcoming and the views from the silo balcony are beautiful with just the horses as neighbours. Considering its on a working livery farm the noise of tractors didn't bother us at all and it wasn't all day every day either.

If you're looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt countryside then this is for you. The cottage was a wonderful retreat, tucked away down a quiet lane, surrounded by acres of fields and far reaching views. The garden was secure for our 2 year old spaniel who would have loved nothing more than to have had the freedom of the Welsh countryside! The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely. The host, Mr Jolly, was a delight - not imposing but if you needed him he would be there in the blink of an eye. Loads of local brochures and maps to help you make the most of your stay. Board games and puzzles in lounge. Hot tub was great, especially on a clear night when you can star gaze with zero light pollution (turn the outside lights and hot tub light off at switch - you will be amazed!) We arranged for a Tesco food delivery on the day we arrived and were so glad we did as, although there was a well stocked Spar in Tregaron around 4 miles away, it was much easier and less hassle than trying to find all your favourite bits here and there. Newquay was our favourite beach day, about a half hour drive but worth it. Boat trips and dolphin watching - we saw dolphins whilst eating our fish and chips on the beach! Cors Caron was a nice 1.5 mile boardwalk around marshland/bogs - prettier than that sounds! We would definitely return to this property and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet escape away.

Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from it all. Perfectly located and owner is the perfect host, so friendly and wants you to have a fantastic break. The property has everything you could need and more, makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The welcome package had everything you needed for a couple of days! Hot tub is a bonus and even had red kites flying over us. Secure garden for the dog meant that we didn't need to worry about her getting out so could really relax. Outdoor eating area was fantastic just to sit and listen to the birds and sheep, if you hear more than three cars pass in the day, its a busy day! Tregaron is a short drive away with Spar shop for the essentials, cafes, pubs, butchers and a farm shop which do fantastic breakfasts and meals throughout the day. Cors Caron is a beautiful nature reserve that makes for great walks at all levels. A wonderful property, we will definitely be going back.

Great cottage, very homely feeling for our festive break. Peaceful and tranquil, great for sitting in the hot tub and watching out for red kites and listening for the owls calling. Very spacious for a family of 4 and one dog. Plenty of local walks from the doorstep with dogs or jut the family. We ventured out to many local attractions advertised in the leaflets found within the cottage. The cottage is well equipped with everything you possibly could need. The log burner was lovely to sit in front in the evenings and stocked well by the owner. The utility room is very helpful for dog owners when returning from muddy walks. The owner was lovely and gave us a tour and explained how everything worked upon our arrival. He also advised on local amenities that we may require and gave good local recommendations too. We can't wait to come back again and explore further.

Well what a beautiful rare gem to have the pleasure of staying in, myself and my husband was both very happy with our stay at Cefnhendre it was so peaceful, quiet, clean and very well equipped. We took our 2 dogs with us and found many dog friendly walks to take them on, there is a draw full of handy leaflets about lots of different locations nearby to visit. Rob the owner was very friendly and show us around the holiday home there was also a very nice welcome pack waiting for us on arrival which we were very greatful for after a long journey. We really enjoyed evenings relaxing in the hot tub and was lucky to have a few clear nights to enjoy some stargazing with our telescope. We would very much like to come back again one day and have been recommending this lovely holiday home to our friends since returning home. Thank you
