We had a perfect 3 week holiday in a perfect house, Church View, in a perfect town, Rye E.
Sussex. The kitchen and bathroom have modern, contemporary fittings and equipment. The kitchen was generously supplied with utensils and food staples. There was more than enough thick and luxurious towels. The owners provided an extra cleaning mid way through our stay at no cost. Church View is small and fairly presented in the photos and is sufficient for two adults. The main bedroom had a comfortable bed and enough storage. As advertised, stairs to upper levels are steep, with narrow steps; care must be taken when descending. The top floor bedroom with twin beds is a bonus but 4 people in the house would be crowded. Units on both sides of Church View are short term rentals. We heard noise and conversations clearly from both sides. The owners agreed to intervene if we had made a complaint. The single dining table should have four smaller chairs that fit better around the table; we entertained several friends for meals and it was difficult to fit everyone in. This cottage is beautifully furnished.
The owner is a talented designer with a real flair for interior design which shows in the enormous attention to detail throughout the cottage. The location is perfect: very quiet, away from any main roads and with its own huge natural garden with a small pond and orchard and lots of outside seating which was great for eating out, as was the large attached conservatory which effectively doubles the size of the downstairs space. Perfect for a couple with a lovely bedroom and en suite bathroom. Itâs also ideally located for exploring the Sussex Downs, the South Coast great destinations like Brighton and Rye, famous gardens like Sissinghurst and Great Dixter and numerous National Trust properties.

We stayed at Broadstone Bungalow for a short weekend. It was very comfortable, warm and inviting. We found it peaceful and well located if you want to explore North Chailey and other surrounding Commons. Wildlife visited us with a fleeting view of a deer and owls hooting. It is less than 10 minute drive to the Bluebell Steam Railway at Sheffield Park which was great for us as we had tickets for the "Giants of Steam 2023 Gala" which was wonderful. The cottage was a joy to return to after a busy day out. It is very well equipped and had everything we needed. Thanks to our kind hosts who left us a welcome pack of milk, local apple juice and shortbread. We had a lovely weekend.

The apartment has clearly been furnished with great flair and attention to detail by Claire and Terry. They were super friendly and helpful, yet completely respected our privacy. Fox Meadow is ideally located for visiting numerous gardens and NT properties. Bodium Castle, Pashley Manor Gardens, Sissinghurst, Batemans, Perch Hill, Great Dixter, Battle Abbey and Scotney Castle are all under 30 minutes drive away. Perfect! The view from the property is just stunning and having Claire's flock of Jacob and Badger Face sheep just metres away from the patio area was a delight. We thoroughly recommend staying at Fox Meadow, we loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Broadstone Bungalow and long to be there for the whole of spring to watch it unfold. We understand a Kingfisher visits the pond the kitchen window overlooks but sadly we didn’t see it. However, the winter birdlife kept us entertained. The kitchen window is your own personal bird hide! The location is perfect for exploring East and West Sussex, countryside and coast. The accommodation and its setting, even in February and the torrents of rain that came down, was perfect. The owners are onsite but so mindful of your privacy. Bring your walking boots and explore.
