    • John - Verified booking

A very comfortable and well refurbished Cottage.

A great place to stay with easy access to great walks on the beautiful north wales coast. The cottage, which has been expertly converted from what was once a dairy, it is very comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. The cottage was perfectly clean and he welcome pack was excellent. The hot tub is an extra bonus. Carole (with an e btw!) and James were excellent hosts We had car problems on the journey to the cottage and were very late arriving. We kept in contact supportive. We were welcomed by Carole who lives next door James and Carole put me in contact with the local garage who, much to my surprise, were able to diagnose the problem and obtain and fit the necessary part the following day. It was a pleasure to chat to Carole although, as noted before, she was not at all intrusive. The history of the building was very interesting at one point it was a general store, haberdashery and private clinic all run by the same person! The cottage is highly recommended

      Stunning location and very peaceful.

Cottage perfect for 2 people. Loved the bonus of the hottub, worth spending the £50 on. We had everything we needed inside but there were a couple of points worth noting. The inside was overrun with spiders. They were in every corner of every room...would have been better if they had been removed before our arrival! The DVD player was described as Blueray, however it refused to play our blueray disc at all. The mattress seriously needs replacing. It has collapsed underneath and this is clearly visible. We both had a bad back by day 3 of our stay. It would be great if there was a switch to turn off the outside lights. They came on every night and were a magnet for all flying insects which meant we couldn't leave the doors or windows open at night. It was 28 degrees in the bedroom one evening...if the lights can't be turned off then maybe supply a couple of fans. A clothes airer would havd also been welcome for hanging up wet towels and swimwear from the hottub.

This is a beautiful, cosy cottage, with plenty of space for a family. Very well appointed, with a full range of kitchen appliances, central heating and a log burner for those really cool nights. The wi-fi provision is excellent too. Outside, the hot tub is a brilliant addition, and was clean and fully prepared for our visit. And what could I say about the games room? It's a fantastic facility and provides all the rainy day entertainment anyone could possibly wish for. The lovely, quiet rear garden is dog-secure, and great to relax in on a sunny day. The cottage is within easy walking distance (2-3 minutes) of a great, dog-friendly pub, 5 minutes from the local shop and is around 10 minutes walk from the beautiful beach. Plenty of clean towels provided, and the linen was also clean and fresh on the very comfortable beds. Overall, a beautiful cottage in a lovely location, which would be great for families with both young children or older teens.

First of all Carole the host who lives next door is so lovely.

Not Intrusive at all but very knowledgeable about the area, and very helpful . The cottage is stunning with everything you could need provided. Including fresh towels delivered to the door half way through our stay. The Hot tub was amazing. The cottage is perfectly positioned in Rhiw which is only a short 7 min drive into the gorgeous unspoiled seaside village Aberdaron. Which has 2 pubs, a couple of restaurants/ cafes, a chippy, a gift shop, and a fab bakery which was a little overpriced.there is also a spar shop too. We didn’t want to go home after our weeklong stay Whistling sands is a must for walkers and beach lovers I cannot wait to return to the Lyn Peninsula Just one thing take it slow and easy driving on the very scarey roads It’s £5 to park on the national trust car parks at Aberdaron and Porthor (whistling sands) all day

    • David - Verified booking

      A lovely location and outlook.

However the property lacked some key facilities. *The bathroom lacked any space for toiletries. A shelf and/or cabinet would be advisable, there is room for both. A shower tidy is also helpful. *The bedroom lacked cupboard space with a small hanging space in the small utility cupboard outside. *No hanging space for wet outer clothing. *No appliance instructions in the welcome pack. Helpful if you don't know or are not familiar with them. * Internet router access would be helpful for online bookings *Some of the lighting has nor been checked, many bulbs not functioning on the cooker hood, bathroom mirror and lounge area. So disappointing as the owner has just renovated the property!!
