The Signal Box is a true Norfolk Hideaway. If you want peace and tranquility away from all the stress of modern day life this is the place to go. We found this beautiful hideaway with a Google search and as soon as we saw it we knew this is where we wanted to stay and we could take our 2 Fox Terrier dogs with us. We booked for a week and the people at Norfolk Hideaways couldn't have been more helpful. The Signal Box is set on the edge of farm where all the out building's have been developed into dwellings. The surrounding countryside is quiet and beautiful with plenty of walks and foot paths to explore in the immediate area. It is also very central for visiting the coast and numerous National Trust sites. Holt is only 15 minutes drive and Wells-Next-To-The-Sea only about 40 minutes drive. The Signal Box itself has been sympathetically restored to it's former glory on the outside with all the requirements of modern living on the inside. The living/kitchen area is upstairs and there are superb views of the surrounding countryside through the 3 sides of glass. The downstairs bedroom is extremely well appointed, has a modern shower room with plenty of room to move about and plenty of storage. Our stay at the Signal Box was extremely pleasant and very relaxing. If we had a complaint it would be a week's stay was not long enough in this comfortable and tranquil little corner of Norfolk. Thank you to the owners Chris and Polly for their hospitality.

We enjoyed a lovely week at the May Bell Cottage.
The cottage is in a great location to explore West Norfolk and during our week we enjoyed trips to Snettisham Farm, Sandringham, Holkham, Wells, Kings Lynn and Hunstanton. The village is lovely and quiet, Sugar Lane and the recreation ground are near and perfect for dog walks. The village also has a Coop and Spar within walking distance. For eating out the Feathers in Dersingham was amazing so we went back on our final night. We also liked the Railway Inn in Docking. Avoid the Queen Victoria in Snettisham though! The cottage itself had everything we needed, it was stocked up with all the kitchen and bathroom essentials and the welcome hamper was a lovely addition. The Wi-Fi was great and the TV in the lounge had all the channels including BBC iPlayer, Netflix etc. We brought our own Amazon Firestick and it wasnât needed. We found the cottage perfect in every way although the floors could have done with a more thorough clean before our arrival as our white socks were not very white! This is a place we will definitely consider booking again for one of our next Norfolk holidays. Thank you.

A Great Place to Stay. We booked a week at The Signal Box in mid-June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was small but comfortable for 2 people and lived up to the photographs on Norfolk Hideway's website. The setting was lovely, situated at the end of the owner's garden and backing on to woodland. It was very quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. The owner left Ordnance Survey maps and leaflets for ideas on places to visit and we added to them before we left. The position was ideal for covering any destination on the north Norfolk coast, whether you wanted a beach, railway excursion, or a country house visit. Also, there was an interesting photo album showing how the Signal Box was moved to the site and renovated into the holiday home it has become. A brilliant use of a building that could have been lost.

This superb property is like a Tardis.
You think it is going to be small when you arrive at the door but as soon as you go inside, the space just opens up before you. The quality of the fittings and decor are excellent and we enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay for our 40th wedding anniversary. There was even a bottle of bubbly and biscuits for us, and a selection of treats for our dog waiting for us on our arrival. Thank you Anne and Richard, it was very much appreciated. The kitchen is equipped with almost everything you could need, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. We liked the community feel to the village of Dersingham, and the many easy dog walks that were available direct from the cottage suited us very well. We will certainly look to return here again when we next visit Norfolk.

When we first entered the cottage we said how lovely it looked, parking is in a gravelled shared car park just outside the cottage.
On the first evening when a member of our family was waiting at the car for us to go out they was told by the neighbour not to let our dogs do any business in the courtyard, which they never did, but how do you tell a dog that they have to hold it till we get onto the roadside. The single bed mattresses wasnât very good, you could feel springs so not a good sleep, I feel that the main bedroom couldâve been better as well, nothing matched, the bedding was awful, new duvets and pillows are a must, we couldnât open the windows either to let fresh air in. When looking around the cottage we also noticed so many cobwebs. A little more attention to detail is needed for me to rate this cottage any higher
