Have just spent a lovely week in Swallowtail Cottage. Perfect and homely with everything you need for a relaxing time away. House is spacious. Bedrooms all large and tastefully decorated. Lovely comfy beds and lovely bedding. Dog bowl and bed also handy and small but pretty garden and enclosed so useful and safe for the dog and I can imagine is lovely in the summer. House was very clean upon arrival. Chocolates were a nice touch. Parking for 2 cars was handy at the side of the house. Kitchen has a washing machine and dryer and all the utensils you can possibly need. Great location for the beach which was great to walk the dog on. Nice and quiet and literally on your doorstep through the dunes. Was amazing to see the seals at Hornsey. Handy premier shop for essentials 5 mins away and Tesco and Lidl about 15 - 20 mins away. Lots of places to visit nearby. Lovely village pub 10 minutes walk away. Had a lovely meal at the boat house which was recommended by the cottage owner. Had a problem with the washing machine and the owners came out promptly and fixed the problem. They were lovely and friendly and gave some advice on where was nice to eat. Would highly recommend staying at this cottage and would love to come back and visit soon.

North Norfolk is a favourite destination and I think The Cart Shed has now become our favourite accommodation!
The owners have carried out a first class conversion from, as the name suggests, a farmyard store, to a cosy luxurious cottage for two. There was everything that you could ever need for a self-catering break and this is a property with all-year-round use with the provision of underfloor heating for those chilly evenings while in the summer months, full width glass doors provide uninterrupted views across the opposite meadow, with grazing sheep during our visit. Located down a quiet lane but easy to find and not far from main (for Norfolk!) roads, there's a tranquil atmosphere and the lack of traffic noise means that you can hear birdsong constantly, and little else. The owners, Jane and James live in the adjacent farmhouse and were always available although not needed but a very useful local area guidebook was a great help. All in all, a real gem and highly recommended.

The property was in an excellent position with excellent views and a lovely quiet location to appreciate the nature.
The property was of a high standard and we have no complaints in any way as it was as described and in excellent condition. The only comments I suggest are a set of headphones for the TV as if one wants to read or go to bed then the other can not watch the TV due to being in the same room or advise customers to bring a set. The other is some dimmable lighting on perhaps just the pendant lights to give more subdued light when sitting. Please do not take this as a criticism but only as a suggestion as we had a wonderful stay.

This is a comfortable, well equipped holiday home, very dog friendly and with adequate space for the six people it sleeps. There is good parking provision which is not always the case in Winterton. The small garden is very sheltered and a sun trap in the afternoon so we were able to sit out comfortably despite the wind. The location is perfect if you want an unspoilt holiday to walk, enjoy the dunes, beach, birds and wildlife, and eat well. This was our fifth visit and we plan to be back.

The cart shed is lovely.
Well thought out and very comfortable. It has everything you need and a very comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom. We enjoyed a fabulous long weekend here, very peaceful. We watched the bats flying around and spotted a Tawny Owl and barn owls right from the door (we could hear the too ) The owners were friendly and informative without being intrusive. We definitely would stay here again and wouldnât hesitate to recommend this property.
