What our customers say about their holidays

    • Christopher - Verified booking

The photographs do not indicate the small size of the flat.

Anyone over 4.5 foot tall will bang their head in the premises. The sloping ceilings reduce the effective size of the rooms. I am 6 foot and could not get close enough to the kitchen sink to wash up. To do this I needed to twist my body so my head fitted into the roof light well. The same situation exists in the WC. I had to sit on the toilet to pee because of the slope of the roof. The bathroom sloping ceiling means the shower is almost un-usable. the shower curtain does nothing to stop the water soaking the floor. There are no views from the premises via windows only roof lights. Good for me on tip toe but no good for my wife. There is no patio garden! there are 2 rusty chairs at the top of the stairs with not enough room to use them and some pot plants on the roof of the adjacent building. The alleged patio area is in shade and breezy in the evening. We felt uncomfortable because the flat overlooks the owners pool and hot tub. The owner uses the ground floor as a workshop and starts DIY at 08:00 which was a rude awakening at the time. All in all not up to the standard we have come to expect from your description and definitely not worth the money paid. We will not use this premises again and will look a lot more closely at your descriptions before booking. I suggest you send a representative along to check out the premises and experience it before writing another description.

Beautiful little cottage, private, secure, plenty of natural light.

We were there during a bitterly cold snap but the electric radiators took the chill off very quickly and then the wood burner took over and we were cosy throughout the cottage and throughout our stay. Facilities good enough but maybe time for some upgrading in the shower room. Water pressure good (and I have thick hair to wash) and heated towel rail great. Kitchen adequate, microwave a bit precious in that it'll do, say 4 minutes, then shut down for 5. We got the hang of it! Oven good but not a fan oven. Washing machine a very helpful addition. Freezer section of fridge iced up but so cold outside, it didn't matter. The only downsides were the bed which, in our opinion was verging towards uncomfortable, the quilt and pillows, we thought poor quality although good for laundering and the sofa seemed to push us both into the centre ... cosy I suppose! TV good, no streaming I don't think. A nice little table and chairs for eating etc. All well arranged and attractively set out within the space. Outside area good and parking good. Overall it was near perfect for a short break but glad to be in my own bed. Oh, and Mark is a fabulous host. Thank you Mark for your warm welcome.

The Threshing barn is set in a lovely village location perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday. It is about 20 minutes to Truro and Falmouth and also to Porthtowan beach, where you can book surfing lessons and there are cafes/restaurants, beach shops and toilets. As a family of 4 (children aged 15 and 12) the size of the barn was ideal and with 2 bathrooms there were no arguments! I would suggest some hooks to be added in the bathrooms for dressing gowns/ towels to be hung. There were plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped!The outside space is lovely and well-maintained, the patio area has seating and a BBQ - unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to enjoy the outdoor area! There is also two car spaces and a games room with a table tennis table, this area is shared with the cottage on the grounds. We had an issue with the oven the day after we arrived and customer services were very efficient and it was sorted the next working day and It didn't stop us from having a wonderful holiday at the Threshing Barn.

The little hideaway was lovely, very clean and compact with all the expected facilities.

The only minor niggle, and it is minor, is that slightly more comfort in the sitting area of the kitchen diner would be good. The couch provided was adequate but not the most comfortable for long term evening relaxation of tv viewing .A pouffe to put ones feet up may have tipped the balance .However overall the accommodatione was very pleasing and we would definitely go again. The owners /hosts were very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome and were also very helpful beyond the call of duty during our stay.We would however recommend that they invest in a visitors book because I’m sure it would provide them with a history of pleasing comments. Our thank you to Andrea and David for a very pleasant week.

Andrea and Dave were perfect hosts, friendly and keen to meet our every need .

The well appointed accommodation was exceptionally clean and the Cream Tea on our arrival was lovely. Little touches such ample tea, coffee as well as fresh milk were all very welcome. Bin bags, cleaning materials, tea towels, dish cloths, a scourer, foil and cling film in the kitchen and an iron, hairdryer and loo rolls all included were unusual and welcome extras. A great location on the edge of Quintrell Downs with a lovely view across fields towards the airport. Excellent reception on the television and fast Wi-fi. For an ideal Cornwall location in. A lovely apartment for two look no further than the Little Hideaway.
