We stayed at Beren for a long weekend in November 2015 and fell in love with it - we already have a return visit planned later this year! The house is warm and welcoming with a lovely kitchen/diner and 3 good bedrooms. All the furnishings and equipment were to a very high standard and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived - the kids immediately logged on to the Wifi internet while we relaxed in the hot tub! We were also delighted to find that the house not only welcomed dogs and had a fully enclosed private garden, but the owners had also provided thoughtful 'doggy' extras such as rugs and food bowls. The cottage is located right in the centre of Croyde village and has the benefit of off-road parking (not often the case with village period properties as we've found in the past). It is also a stone's throw from a good local pub serving excellent food. A short, scenic walk takes you to Croyde Bay where dogs are allowed on the beach during the off-peak season. We particularly recommend the cliff top walk to Woolacombe with sweeping sea views across Croyde Bay.

Excellent location and very convenient for the town and beach. Very comfortable with excellent quality appliances and linen. We found the recommendations for local cafes, pubs and restaurants very helpful and would heartily endorse the Rock Inn. Access from the road can be challenging for those under 10 and over 60 years of age due to the slope of the drive. Fantastic views and it’s well worth the hike but better to let people know as photos don’t really capture the situation.. if you think you’re smart and decide to take Nespresso capsules be warned, this is a Nespresso Vituo and regular pods are not compatible.

A very lovely upside down house on the main route into Woolacombe with sea views and a 10-15 minute walk to the village and beach. It is beautifully furnished with good quality items and the bed we slept in was very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped (including an nespresso machine so bring your pods if that’s your thing) and the whole house spotlessly clean. It wasn’t a problem for us at all as we were a solo couple, but I mention for other potential users, there is no door on the en-suite bathroom and one side of the stairs has no banister. We would stay again and had a very chilled week.

In a great location however the parking issue needs to be a bit clearer I feel.
When you are staying there are you not considered a resident? I also think that maybe the cottage should supply a parking permit as there was times when finding any parking this week was nearly impossible. It states on the website that you will have to pay in the other car Park which adds up if you did it every day, and the other Park along the beach is only for an hour. Apart from that and there being nowhere to actually dry your clothes (we are travelling) so canât take them home and do it, the cottage had everything needed, and itâs location is great plus we had the best beach weather.

Pleasant stay at Smithy - a house full of character be it a bit dark for us in the day in the lounge but the gorgeous log burner made up for that in the evenings Well equipped kitchen and great to have some biscuits and milk and tea n coffee stuff left. Beautiful crisp white bed linen and property felt clean Not a great shower in bathroom as others have said as water pressure poor but not an issue as chose to use the bath instead. Location amazing in spitting distance of The Thatch and brilliant to have a parking space at the back of the property.
