What our customers say about their holidays

    • Kimberley - Verified booking

      Truly amazing stay.

Gorgeous peaceful surroundings, obviously everyone goes for the hot tub which is fed from an underground spring and heated 24 hours a day everything is perfect. You have a complimentary fire pit kit with logs for your first one, I guarantee that once you get into the hot tub with the flames dancing one fire will not be enough. I forgot about work and was so chilled after this break I was horizontal for days. The host is a lovely lady, so hard working and nothing is to much trouble. Highly recommend. The shops are a little bit of a distance as you are secluded but it's well worth it no stress. I recommend going to Glasson Dock approx 6 miles away the Dalton Arms does an amazing breakfast and pint of Guinness (we were on holiday) then if your into posh nosh from lobster to wild boar pate pop next door to the port of Lancaster Smokehouse for things to take back to the pod. We will be returning unfortunately my wife won't let me go back next week. This isn't a downside, housemartins like to nest around the outside light above the door, the owner keeps it under control but if you hang a plastic bag around the light in the day it keeps them away and saves your lovely host from scarecrow duty. Thank you.

      My Name is Shezad.

I stayed at Heron in Yorkshire Dale's in August 2024. This place was amazing the views from my pod are stunning if I could I would have spent all three days of my stay at the pod just watching the view, but I was with the kids so made them do activities and enjoy the nature. The Pod is a 10/10 for cleanliness and it has all the right things to keep you going for about 7 days. My over all experience was a 9 /10 this was because I would change two things, 1 I would have the hot tub abit more private as people driving on to the site and past the site could see me in the hot tub. 2 the water was abit yellow, this will pit some people off so I would advise for the owner to get this issues resolved, the water tasted fresh but the colour put my partner off. Diane was a great help she answered all our queries before we got to the site and also when we where on the site. I will definitely be using these Pods next time. Regards Shezad Mansoor

We felt for the value we paid for the 2 nights that such a late check in and such an early check out doesn't merit the value of the cost.

There was only one other small pod in use and the housekeeping had completed the cleaning of that by 10.30am. Especially in the off peak week day season these could be adjusted slightly. Going by that example we could've had more time in our pod on our entry and exit days. It was very nice to have the cookies, coffee and tea etc however there was no milk so these were somewhat unusable until we had to travel back to Ingleton to get milk. We had a short power cut which was resolved very quickly by the owners which was appreciated. Overall a beautiful location, pods were modern, clean and well set up. I would put these in the 4 star bracket but little things such as milk or even small toiletries would have made the difference to make it a 5 star to us. Highly recommend for a quiet staycation with plenty of walks and a great pub 3/4 mile walk under Ribblehead Viaduct. Great video of pods on Instagram under Sykescottages

We have just return from an amazing break in this lodge it was absolutely stunning from the moment we stepped in to the lodge and was greeted with a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates.

The lodge is brand new and has everything you need in it for your break away. Lexi our cockerpoo settled in straight away. There was a washing machine and dishwasher also an en-suite with shower and a main bathroom with shower, the decking is well situated with sun all day. It is situated about a 10 min walk from the pub and reception. The best part of our break we did get to meet the owner who was such a lovely man made sure we were all ok and even told us the best places to go too also pubs and restaurants. This lodge has everything it’s says on the page and the pictures are exactly what it looks like. Amazing find would highly recommend this too anyone we will definitely 100% stay here again thank you Mark Andrea Lexi

We really enjoyed our stay in Lapwing Pod despite the fog, wind, rain and then ice!

Stunning local scenery when the 3 Peaks finally emerged from the clouds on the last day! Relaxing in the hot tub in wind and rain was challenging but fun. Constructive comments for shower....non slip mat needed, and caddy for accessories would be helpful. We are mother and daughter who prefer to sleep separately, so used both bedrooms. Double room very well appointed but twin room not really comfortable for even 1 adult, great for 2 children. A second hanging rail to match the other would improve space usage. Heating system was extremely efficient and welcome in late Dec/New Year 2024/5. Living and kitchen facilities well equipped and comfortable.
