What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lauren - Verified booking

      Borah Lodge was absolutely wonderful.

Everything we wanted and needed! The lodge is set on a working farm, is tucked away in the corner and feels private. It’s exactly as described and was cosy and warm. On arrival, the lodge was extremely clean and tidy. There was scones, jam and cream waiting for us and they were delicious! Harvey and coco, the farm spaniels are so sweet and friendly, we loved having them around to visit us! The hot tub is so relaxing and was much needed after a long day walking across the coastal paths. The lodge is situated in the best place possible for exploring south Cornwall. Mousehole and Penzance are about 15 mins away and Newlyn is a 5/10 min drive. It’s the best place for fish and chips! St Ives is about 30 mins away and the amazing Kynance Cove and Lizard point is an hour away but well worth the drive. If you have a dog, Porth Kidney is the best beach around Highly recommend the Lake Side Cabin Cafe in Lelant for cream tea. The biggest and best cream tea and cakes we have ever had!! Overall, great location, relaxing, clean, tidy and exactly what we needed. Thank you!

We had a lovely time at Borah Lodge.

The hosts were there if we needed them but left us to our own devices. The lodge itself is everything we expected and more. The bed was the most comfortable we’ve ever experienced away from home, the lodge was beautifully warm, the hot tub awesome as it is undercover so when it rained we could still use it. We were met with fresh scones, jam, cream, tea, coffee, sugar and milk which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. When booking this lodge I did have reservations about the two chairs in the front room instead of a sofa as my husband and I like to cuddle up when watching TV. We needn’t have worried as the chairs were very comfortable and when pushed together we still felt close. Tv in the front room and bedroom were a good size and we moved the DVD player from front room to the bedroom when needed. Only draw back is that most things are a good 40 mins to hour drive away but we knew that when we booked. Fantastic lodge in every way!

The Pod was very clean and had all the amenities within.

The only issue was the double bed was right up against the wall on both sides so to leave the bed we had to sit and shuffle off the feet end. I wouldn't recommend it for elderly or physicaly disabled people. We had to clean the embers to the fire that heated the Hot Tub which would take a few hour's to heat the tub. We weren't informed as to where to empty the ash. Then we had to make the fire from wood provided which cost £6 a time for more wood. On the other hand for the price we paid to stay it would of been convenient if the owner's visited in the morning and cleaned the ashes. I don't recall any of these issues being advertised or advised on the Internet Web site.

Sea view was a lovely little Pod and was everything we expected it to be.

Situated in a field away from noises of everyday life it is beautifully silent. It had all the amenities we needed and the hot tub was great. Pack light as there is not much storage space for clothing. The bed is not the easiest to get in an out of and you do need to shuffle out of it, but was very comfortable. You do need a car to get to anywhere, or enjoy a good walk. The beaches are beautiful round here and there are many to choose from. We liked a walk to the local pub and restaurant on an evening. We would definitely stay here again.

The lodge was ready for us when we arrived, even though we were slightly earlier than planned.

Everything was very clean and had clearly been thoroughly disinfected prior to our arrival. There were delicious scones, jam and cream waiting for us, along with fresh milk, which were very welcome touches above and beyond what we would have expected. The hot-tub was superb, every bit as enjoyable as anticipated, and the cover meant that we did not have to worry about the weather when we were making use of it! Would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone, fantastic place to stay, great location, everything was in very easy reach!
