What our customers say about their holidays

Clean, spacious and quiet (heard nothing from neighbours)! Beautiful views over Ullswater with the sunrise in the morning. Comfortable beds and bedding. Great facilities - well equipped kitchen with a full sized fridge above and freezer below, an aga, a gas hob and a normal oven. Got a Sainsbury’s delivery to the property without issue. Our only problem was that the smaller bathroom’s shower had no hot water and the drains (only in that bathroom) didn’t smell great when we arrived - the lack of hot water in that bathroom was mentioned in a previous review and we assumed it had been fixed but it had not, hence we only had one usable shower (the larger en-suite bathroom) and not two as we had expected and advertised (hence losing one star in the rating). Towels smelled a bit like they hadn’t dried properly but not a huge issue and easily fixable. there is a washing machine, dried and dishwasher. The en-suite shower was great though. If you are okay with this, then I would definitely recommend this property. Lovely Christmas tree and welcome basket which were appreciated. Not too far from the A66, making it easy to get to other places. Two parking spaces. Would love to come back! We had a wonderful Christmas :-)

Lovely accommodation, very clean and well equipped.

Set in a field, secluded from everyone, very peaceful. The scenery around is stunning, you can see Lake Ullswater and mountains. I would also like to mention how fantastic the staff of Ullswater holiday Park are. Firstly the receptionist who contacted us on the day after the heavy downpour of snow, to see if we were ok.. I informed her it was not possible to drive our car in it, through the field, so she organised a team of staff to come with a tractor and trailer to help us out. Secondly all the team involved in getting the car out, you were all amazing. Thank you so much. I definitely will recommend the Hidden Place and I will be back .

This was a fantastic holiday property. The views were exceptional and the whole experience of staying in such a beautiful house was memorable. Particular mention must go to whoever put the welcome hamper together it was quite simply the best we have ever had. My only comment would be for the details of where to park to be put on the welcome joining instructions as we were unsure of where to park and had to ring the housekeeper. We did find instructions Laternext to the aga but I think if they want the joining instructions it would just save that little bit of confusion. We will definitely return

      Had a very enjoyable stay.

The welcome pack was 'Welcome' although perhaps a small bottle of milk could be added. The view was beautiful and the place was quiet. Although internet was intermittent if you want a getaway holiday then that is not important. It could usually be got outdoors of the cottage. The bed mattress could have been a bit thicker but not a deal breaker. A way of drying clothes at the cottage ie an airer or clothes line would be welcome. However we had a great week there and the fact we could use the facilities at the holiday park was great. We would like to visit again as we had a good week.

Bed and living room furniture extremely uncomfortable.

No tv channels available. Poor quality picture from dvd player. I had to SCRUB your oven tray clean as someone just put a sheet of tin foil over old food spilled on it which resulted in the oven smoking when we used it. Poor quality and quantity of dishcloths and dish cleaning materials given. Asking for the crockery to be clean and stored away with the materials provided is a joke. The road entrance to the property requires attention with grass scraping underneath my unmodified vw polo. The car is due its mot soon and if there is any damage caused by this I WILL be sending you the bill.
