What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Ridley - Verified booking

Great Location and a nice house which to relax in, the parking spot at the back of the house is a godsend and can be used for 2 cars with one parked across the bay... Reasonably appointed, comfortable beds, dining kitchen which will easily sit 10. The garden is quite large at the back and the front garden overlooks the Common and is great for sitting in watching the sun set with a glass of wine etc. This house is quite handy for the high street and the shop/ restaurants etc being only 5 minutes away, but is a reasonable walk to Gun Hill 20 mins or so... Most things needed in a holiday let are covered but we couldn't get the Sonus music streaming system to work off any of our iPhones but might just be us ! This is our 4th time in Forest lodge so that should say a lot ...

Beautifully kept accommodation, right in the centre of Southwold. Everything you could want from the cottage was catered for and we thought that parking may be an issue, but at the time of year outside school holidays, it was easy to find free parking very near the cottage. We had booked a grocery delivery which worked well but there is a Co-op and Tesco Express in the town. We ate out a few times and the food we particularly enjoyed was at the Sail Loft and the Sole Bay in. Coaster was fully booked for the times and dates we tried, but that was for an inside seat not the beach huts in the courtyard of the restaurant.

A lovely apartment, well designed and finished to a high standard. Out of the owners control, but I wish we’d been aware that there is a strong smell of fried donuts from the shop next door (open til 9pm in summer!) because the shop’s extractor was right next to our kitchen/longe windows. We had to keep them closed which was a real shame. The same shop’s air con / fridge fans rumbled on and off all night under the main bedroom, again a real shame we didn’t know about it beforehand. Great location and nice view but would probably visit in winter next time to avoid the above.

Garden Lodge is a fantastic cottage located at the bottom of Constitution Hill and very near Gun Hill Cannons. It is tucked away in a little court yard making it a very peaceful location but still only a couple of minutes walk to the beach or the town. The cottage is decorated and equipped to a very high standard. I loved the built in Sonos sound system, my daughter loved the Dyson hair dryers and my wife loved the wood burning stove. It was warm and cosy, the beds were super comfy and kitchen was great to cook in. We'll definitely come back.

Lovely cosy little cottage in a great location for exploring Southwold and the surrounding area. The cottage was well equipped and well presented throughout. The artwork around the cottage was perfect for the seaside location and theme. The open fireplace was a welcome during our visit in February. The location pubs and eateries are fabulous and the distillery/brewery tour at Adnams is well worth a visit. We will be returning to Well Cottage again.
