    Glossop Holiday Cottages

The charming market town of Glossop is considered the northwestern gateway to the Peak District and the county of Derbyshire. Surrounded by the rugged moorland of the Dark Peak and located at the foot of Snake Pass, Glossop has all the amenities any holidaymaker could need and is also a lovely base to explore the area’s walking country.

Old Glossop dates back to the 12th century and is filled with pretty stone cottages. There's a mediaeval market cross with Manor Park at its heart, a popular spot for outdoor play, picnics, alfresco drinks and local events. The town centre includes refurbished buildings that were previously used as mills and are now home to shops, restaurants and bars. There's a wide range of independent small businesses and local trades, too. The whole town has the welcoming atmosphere Yorkshire is famous for and is a magnet for keen shoppers looking for quirky and unusual goods.

At Snaptrip we have a huge variety of holiday cottages in Glossop. We offer thousands of properties across the UK, with lots of special offers and all backed by our best price guarantee that ensures you’re always getting unbeatable value for money. Got a question? What our customers say about their holidays

    • Nicola - Verified booking

There are only good things to say about this property.

We stayed at the weekend for my partners 40th with our family and it was perfect. It had everything we needed. It was spotless and extremely clean and looked beautiful, even better in person. The beds and sofas were so comfy and there was plenty of room. My 1 year old loved the space to run around and was kept entertained with the huge tele in the lounge watching all her Disney favourites. The area was lovely and very quiet and was close to local shops and pubs which was really handy. We were able to have a lovely walk even though it was so cold. We've said we would definitely come back but maybe in summer when the weather is better so we can make more use of the summer house, bbq and the lovely garden. I would 100% recommend this property. Sally and David were very helpful too and were a text or phone call away if needed. Thanks for a great stay

This is a very comfortable and spacious house with a very large, fully open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room downstairs.

The house is extremely well equipped, with a very high-spec kitchen, enormous tv, and loads of storage. The new and very substantial summer house in the garden was very useful for us as a place to play our musical instruments without bothering those in the open plan area, or, hopefully, the neighbours. The house is in a cul de sac in a modern housing estate, so if you're looking for rural or characterful, this isn't it; but the area is quiet and makes a handy base for trips into the Peak District. You can walk up a large moorland hill straight from the front door. The weather was getting colder but the house was warm, with lovely underfloor heating, and there's a very enjoyable large bath as well as excellent showers. The owner was helpful and friendly. Altogether, we had a very comfortable and pleasant week.

We have just enjoyed a lovely few days at this property.

The house is huge, and very well maintained. It is very well equipped and all furnishings are of a high standard. It is in walking distance of the town with plenty of pubs and shops. The summer house is a great addition and we would love to return in warmer months to be able to enjoy that! The super king room is more like a suite with a walk in dressing room and the sunken bath was amazing! The owners are very responsive, we couldn’t manage to get 2 of the upstairs rooms heated and they popped over to check things for us. The only feedback I would like to give is to perhaps leave more loo roll and some surface cleaner and bin bags. We popped into town and picked these up but it would be useful for these items to be provided for future guests.

      This property is outstanding!

From the second you walk in through the front door you are amazed at how beautiful it is. Large open plan downstairs with comfortable sitting area and dining area. Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious and the walk in wardrobe was perfect with ample hanging space and hangers (nowhere ever has enough hangers). The beds were super comfortable and the little touches of shower gel etc in the en suite was an added bonus. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, I was amazed to find cocktail glasses as I was expecting to make my cocktails in some random glasses but literally everything is thought of. Glossop high street is only a short walk with plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely family get together at Moor View.

The downstairs open plan space and the master bedroom suite were huge, much bigger than they appear in the photos. We were able to use the dressing room as a bedroom for the baby. There were dog walks from the house front door - up the hill opposite. Also worth recommending is the park on the river in town - great for dogs and children and just a short drive away. Communication was excellent with the owners. On a practical note, an extra large front doormat and decent coat pegs/stand for storing and drying coats would be a big help! Although we worked it out for ourselves in the end, instructions/hints about using the large TV remotes, coffee maker, heating and how to find the microwave would be good too!
