Guests say

Halcyon Cove in Carbis Bay boasts stunning sea views and a prime location near the train station and beach. Guests appreciate the spacious, well-appointed apartments and the convenience of nearby attractions. While some guests mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the majority reflect on a pleasant stay with thoughtful touches and a desire to return.

Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Some guests found the apartment very clean, while others reported issues with sand under rugs, dirty sinks, and unclean utensils. The presence of hair and a dirty high chair were also mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the train station, Carbis Bay Hotel, restaurants, and the beach. Guests love the convenience for exploring St Ives and other attractions in South Cornwall, contributing to a high satisfaction rate for the location.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests enjoying the spaciousness and amenities. However, some guests found the beds hard and the sofas and double bed a bit uncomfortable. The comfort of the mattresses was a recurring point of contention.

Facilities are appreciated, especially the utility room and the views from the property. However, guests reported issues with patio doors, lack of recycling facilities, and a need for better maintenance. The presence of a laundry/drying room was a positive aspect for many.

Thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of welcome packs, including milk, juice, and biscuits, which guests found very considerate. However, it's noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary. The lack of a consistent welcome pack in some instances suggests variability in the thoughtfulness of the welcome experience.

Patio area needs refreshing ( large weeds growing between slabs - ironic as when we arrived, one of the garden team was sitting outside our bedroom window where the weeds were. He could have removed them in a few mins! All patio doors were faulty. Both bedroom ones were stuff, rusty and filthy in door jams making each second door stiff and noisy to open/close. Main bifolds could not be opened, only first 2. When I went to unlock the bifold, the lock handle broke off. This was reported at the time). The utility room was a welcome facility but a clothes airer would be a good idea as there is nowhere to hang washing - not everything can go in the tumble dryer. We enjoyed our holiday despite these points and will return to Carbis Bay, but it won't be at this apartment. For the price, we have stayed in better in the same area of Carbis.

However the apartment could benefit from a really good clean both inside and on the patio slabs. The windows and doors also really need a service to make them function smoothly. Personally for us we found the sofas and double bed a bit uncomfortable, but this is just down to our personal preference.

The only thing I’d change is better blinds in the bedrooms that block out more of the sunlight. I’d definitely come back to this apartment in future.
