What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Robinson - Verified booking

Polsue Gardens is an ideal getaway, superbly located with every imaginable comfort. Spotlessly clean, stylishly designed with a tasteful choice of furnishings, spacious, well-equipped and lovingly prepared, we immediately felt at home. The modern kitchen and cosy living room area was very much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable. Dee was the perfect host and gave us a very warm welcome with kind gifts of bread, fresh vegetables, eggs and beautiful bouquets of flowers. The fenced and very well kept garden was a pleasure to behold and the trees and picturesque view over the surrounding countryside created a peaceful environment in which we could relax and recover. Our dog appreciated the freedom of having the garden and we were relieved she was safe to roam and explore to her heart’s content. The squirrels were also a delight. The guestbook was a good idea, not least because of the previous guests’ recommendations about things to do and places to visit. We would strongly recommend Polsue Gardens and look forward to returning! Thank you Dee!

Absolute gem of a property so close to town but still enough out to enjoy the countryside feel. Polsue gardens had a home from home feel yet the quality and modern standards from a holiday home. Our 2 year old settled instantly into the environment as she danced around the private gardens to lodge. The lodge had everything we needed for our stay and the welcome package of bread milk butter etc was a life saver and generous gesture. Dee was a great host and ever so kind and helpful. She ensured we was greeted on arrival and knew our names and remembered our little ones name at the end of the stay on goodbyes. Those extra touches absolutely made our holiday. We will definitely be booking again and we’ve already recommended to family and friends!

Polsue Gardens was a wonderful lodge on the outskirts of Truro and in a central location in Cornwall. This is a new property and we were only the second booking. The whole property is finished to a wonderful standard with two large en-suite rooms and the main living/kitchen area. The property had everything we needed during our week long stay. Dee the owner was fantastic and very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The garden areas which the lodge is on is spacious and wonderfully presented and maintained. The garden is enclosed, so perfect if you have a dog. We had such a wonderful time staying here and I would recommend this property to anyone. I will be returning.

We had an excellent stay at Polsue Gardens and thoroughly recommend the property. The accommodation is extremely well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed when cooking various meals. The grounds are lovely and private. The location is very close to Truro and various supermarkets. The owners are very polite, explained everything we needed upon check in, only kept in touch if they saw us (the self-contained property and gardens are at the back of their land well away from their own living accommodation) to check everything was ok with our stay, and provided a lovely welcome pack for our arrival. We would definitely stay again.

    • Stephanie - Verified booking

Lovely accommodation, very clean and a step-up from many others we have stayed in of this style with ensuite bathroom, king size bed, walk-in wardrobe, dishwasher, larger beds (suit teenagers) and fantastic hot tub.

Great location for exploring both the north and the south coast. If you have teenagers and/or are keen cyclists, I would recommend hiring bikes and spending the day cycling the coast to coast trail (old mine tram tracks from Portreath to Devoran) which is on the doorstep. Scenery is stunning and my boys loved it! Body boarding in Porthtowan and Perranporth is a must too. Would have given 5 stars but owner is busy working hard, finishing building other lodges surrounding this one so a little bit of building work happening in front of lodge (was not noisy though), otherwise view over mining valley is quite pretty.
