What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma - Verified booking

This was our first time in Cornwall so we were really excited to stay in number 39.

It is a really quiet, peaceful, safe place. In a great location, lots of space, clean and tidy. Fab facilities - most appliances seemed new. DVD player and dvds brilliant for the evening. Our children loved the fudge/shortbread/harribo gifts. Plenty of towels, and plenty of cleaning products too. There were some things that I felt i needed to mention: A long handle sweeping brush and a vacuum cleaner would be useful (especially the vac if pets stay) Instruction manual for warm water, shower, washer, leaving the property (what is required regarding bedding and towels), site facilities etc.. would be useful. New shower as the current one is not very powerful. Colander in the cupboard needs a good wash as it looks mouldy. One of the chairs needs fixing as one of the bars kept popping out and the table needs tightening up. The bedrooms are damp - bedding feels damp/cold every night, clothing feels damp and smells musty. We left the windows on the latch to help with condensation but nothing really worked. Wardrobes smell really musty so we couldn’t use them. Unfortunately we had to leave a night early as the dampness set off one of my children’s and husbands asthma. So we felt it best to leave early to ease the asthma cough/breathlessness. Apart from the dampness we had a lovely stay.

The bungalow is very well equipped for holiday stays, lots of kitchen items, cleaning products and overall very comfortable and homely.

The downfall is the bathroom, both my girls were looking forward to having soaks in the bath (only a shower at home currently), but the bath takes a considerable amount of time to fill with the hot water only lasting for approx 1 minute before this stops. We called the owner to be told this was normal and the shower was electric so to use this instead, however the shower jumped from extreme hot temperatures to freezing cold regardless of the settings used. The TV had low or poor signal the whole time, which prevented us from watching any other channel than BBC 1 without it cutting out all together or looking at a black screen every few seconds. The bungalow is a great base for families to explore Cornwall, and situated in a lovely spot for children to play on the play area, whilst always being in eyes view. With a few adjustments this would be perfect for all to enjoy. We booked for the week so the lack of shower & bath really affected our enjoyment of the bungalow.

      Beautiful little chalet.

The website says to take tea towels etc but it actually had it all there. Was very clean and surprisingly spacious. We only stayed for 2 days as we were more in the area to see family than have a holiday. Would have been nice to use the pools, but it says only available if the chalet owner has a swim membership. We couldn't find that information anywhere so assumed we couldn't use it. Also the TV has sky but it was not working, it didn't think it was connected to the Internet. The Internet was working fine as we all connected to the wifi. Anyway the vast dvd collection saved the day. The key code is given as 1970 but actually its 1980 so we were lucky to get in. Improvements, add a park map to show where it is and where to park and maybe a welcome pack. We would definitely stay here again.

We always go camping, so this was a real change for us.

We hugely appreciated arriving to find scones, clotted cream and jam and enough supplies for a few rounds of tea and coffee! The cottage was lovely and clean (it had clearly been totally disinfected prior to our arrival), and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the fact that with Covid 19 the staff wanted to ensure that everyone had at least two swims guaranteed - and we booked these in as soon as we arrived. We had the outdoor pool to ourselves and shared the (quite large) indoor pool with one other family, with a rope separating us. The staff at the bar and the restaurant were really welcoming and friendly. All in all, it was a really lovely stay - a real treat for us as a family! Many thanks.
