Gabrianne is a pleasant holiday let which we found to be spacious, clean and well equipped.
Pretty much your standard holiday let weâd say. Itâs well located for exploring the area and has a couple of decent pubs a short walk away. We only used the two double bedrooms one of which was of was of adequate size but the smaller one was a tighter squeeze. The beds were very comfortable. The twin beds and bunk beds were not used so canât comment on them. We did note though that two of the rooms lacked adequate facilities for hanging clothes which would be a helpful improvement. The kitchen was fitted with modern units and appliances with plenty storage space for groceries. There was lots of cutlery, crockery and ovenware (although one or two oven trays could do with replacing as they were a bit tatty). A huge fridge and a separate small freezer (but perfectly adequate for most holiday needs we thought). The conservatory is a pleasant place and which we used in the main. Had the weather been cooler then the lounge would also have been a comfortable space. The dining room (open plan to the lounge) with a good sized table was also up to the job. There was plenty of information available about the local area and a good library of maps which we made use of. Thereâs also enough entertainment technology to suit most needs. The rear garden is a good size and private with open fields beyond. However, given Dorset is one of the prettiest parts of the country, it does lack some real TLC. Itâs pretty much just a âcloverâ lawn with a few bedraggled plants hither and thither. With just a little more care to make it a more attractive area it could be a huge asset to the property! It probably suits families with children or dog owners as it wouldnât suffer too much damage though so maybe thatâs the reason? We had a problem with the cold water supply to the bathrooms and previous occupiers had also commented on this. The water was literally just âdrippingâ out of the upstairs taps when we arrived. Dream Cottages arranged for a plumber to attend, which he did, but in the meantime we discovered the cold water feed from the cold tank in the loft had been turned off. When turned on the cold water flow was sufficient and perfectly acceptable but it is not direct from the mains (as it is in the kitchen) and also not potable (only the kitchen is potable). Weâd suggest this should be pointed out in the information file for the house. Overall, a good holiday let. Thank you.

The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed apart from a dryer.
I am disabled and booked based on your description, this was inaccurate. The property was hard to find and accessabiity was around zero. There was scaffolding in the front acces so wheelchair/ mobile scooter ( or even a pushchair could not pass through and it was difficult to walk through. There was no patio are only a step outside! as described. You had to walk some distance away from the property down steps and then up steps again to access the property from the back or go to the the fenced in, small paved area adjacent to the parking lot with a patio bench set with a washing line above, allocated to the property. The door and seating shown were there but the door was locked with no way to open so certainly not a step outside as described and in no way private. There was rubbish from workmen strewn accross the the small passage access to the only openable door making it a massive trip hazard for me. The bin could not be put out as requested because of the scaffolding and rubbish/ builders equipment in the way so my husband took it by the back a access a very long and difficult way around to the front. Some of the rubbish consisted of sky dishes, aerials and builders equipment so may account for the very poor tv and wifi signal we had at the property all week. We only had one key ( difficult to manage for 3 couples so we had 2 more cut and advised company to give all 3 to their next guests) By the way when we arrived at the property we could not find it as there is no sign or number on the front alley gate .A very kind local had to take us to the property via the back we would never have located it on our own a simple number or name on the alley gate and sign at the back would be helpful.

Well appointed house in residential area close to beach.
It is a 10 minute stroll along prom to the busier part of the beach where you will find the donkeys, small fair rides and a bit further there are more rides and towards the pavillion a larger fair. It's about a 20 minutes walk to the bustling harbour where you will find bars and places to eat. Over the bridge to more eateries and the Brewers Quay. You will find the boat rides this side too. Walking the other way takes you to lovely gardens with a cafe and live music on Sundays. This side is more upmarket and the beach is half pebble and sand. The sea is shallow and calm and perfect for little ones. The house is 3 storey with an exceptionally large bathroom. A lovely big shower enclosure with glass door. The outdoor space is decked with table, chairs and loungers and is a good sun trap. The downstairs shower room and toilet is under the stairs and does have a musty aroma but it is clean although none of us used this shower. The bedrooms vary in size the largest being on the 1st floor which overlooks the street which can be a bit noisy when folk going home. As mentioned in previous reviews the rooms do not have wardrobes, except for top floor where one is on landing. However there are strong rails with plenty of hangers. Unfortunately no drawers in bedrooms on 1st floor only bedside cabinets so tshirts etc either out of case or on floor. There were 6 adults and 1 toddler staying for a fortnight in total and the house suited us well. A bonus was the paid parking in the Swannery car park which is about 10 minutes away. Would recommend you take earplugs though, the dawn chorus if seagulls is very loud.

The house was OK.
Clean and basic facilities. It was dingy and claustrophobic - one window at the front obscured by an overgrown bush, and one at the back in the kitchen. No windows up stairs, only roof lights. The place welcomes pets (we don't have any), but had a bit of a musty smell of wet dog. There's shelves in the living room well stocked with books etc, but this gave the impression of being cluttered. There's lots of pictures on the walls at odd places, looking behind these cover dents/marks in the wall. No usable outside space - There was a back garden but no access to it - the only access being via the side and back of the row of properties, which was not at all practical. There's a bench at the front facing an overgrown bush and overgrown brambles. Facilities were basic - no washing machine or dish washer. Parking wasn't ideal. There are spaces more or less in front of the property which is fine, if they are available. More than once these were all taken and we had to park at the other end of the site (by the refuse/recycling bins). There is a hotel on the side with restaurant and pool. We didn't use these facilities, the weather wasn't quite good enough for the outside pool and there are plenty of nice restaurants in the area to try. Charmouth, Lyme Regis, and the Jurassic coast is a lovely area. If you're loking for somewhere basic, then this is fine. Would we recommend it, not really, unfortunately, I am sure there are better properties for the price to rent in the area.
