What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Schmitt - Verified booking

The spacious apartment is just a few steps from the beach and offers a well-equipped kitchen. It’s perfect for those who enjoy cooking their own meals. The bright windows facing the sea provide sunshine during breakfast (weather permitting). During peak season, it can be quite lively outside the apartment, even late at night. The bedroom is at the back, but unfortunately, you can hear a ventilation system when the window is open. Light sleepers might find this disturbing. We kept the bedroom window closed at night and ventilated through the living room. The apartment is ideally located for long walks, with everything you need within walking distance. You can enjoy the smart TV in the living room or the smaller TV in the bedroom. The bathroom is spacious and well-equipped with both a shower and a bathtub. Overall, the apartment is in good condition, though you can see signs of wear from previous guests. The washer-dryer and dishwasher are very convenient, although the dishwasher’s drying function was broken during our stay and couldn’t be fixed. It still washed well, and drying by hand wasn’t a big issue. We would love to come back.

After being initially a bit disappointed on arrival at the flat, mainly due to the location (the view from the window is a barbers and a Chinese takeaway), we realised that it actually isn't in a bad position if you don't mind walking up a steep hill. We tended to take out everything that we might need for the day and evening so we didn't have to go back too often. We aren't used to traffic noise though, so had to keep the windows closed at night which was a bit uncomfortable. The flat was well equipped with a comfortable bed and large shower. Parking was quite a problem. After managing to get a spot opposite the flat, we didn't move the car for four days. The good thing about Swanage (which we really loved) is that there are so many beautiful walks with stunning views, nice restaurants and a regular local bus service, so that once we were there, a car really wasn't needed. We missed having an outdoor area more than we thought we would, but the excellent pub, just two minutes walk away, has a garden.

Beautiful property, absolutely immaculate and the welcome pack was superb.

It is so well equipped, had everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. The only thing that isn’t made clear at all and should be taken into account is the fact that you will be spending an extra £30-50 (dependant on length of stay) in parking on top of the cost of the accommodation. It is an absolute pain to get your belongings into the accommodation, in the height of season there is know way you will get parking anywhere near the location to unload and believe me, carrying your luggage up to the long stay car park is not for the faint hearted. The instructions are quite vague about this on the description, I emailed the company prior to our visit to enquire about where to park but did not get a reply and even going into the main office again they were vague and told us to drive to somewhere which was not accessible due to road works and stick our hazards on along the seafront but this was also not possible. Definitely something to consider when booking.

This was our second stay this year at this quality apartment. It’s well equipped, ideally situated with excellent views of the beach, close to all amenities and has permit car parking. What’s not to like? Well.......there is some noise from the patrons outside the restaurant downstairs and at weekends live music in the evenings, which we could hear, but it was acceptable. However on the last weekend of our stay (11th and 12th October) it moved into full nightclub mode including some kind of “boombox” sound system obviously located just below the floor of the apartment. From around 8:30 to 11:30 the noise and vibration was tremendous, shaking the floor and windows. When it finally subsided the sounds of clearing up continued into the early hours. Not the best night’s sleep prior to having to vacate the apartment by 9:00am Sunday morning. I’m afraid, this time, we will not be back, unless something is done about the nightclub noise.

A lovely little apartment just behind the front at Lyme, pretty much right in between the old town and Cobb hamlet.

A little lane takes you round to the front. The apartment is on three floors with the bedroom and bathroom on the lowest level, living area in the middle, and a bright kitchen/dining area at the top. This leads out to a pleasant outdoor area with table, chairs, and benches. Everything you might need is provided. We did have some problems getting a signal on the TV in the living area, which involved a lot of fiddling with leads, but it settled down after a while, and it's not as if you're in watching TV much when there's so much to see in Lyme and the surrounding area. The only issue with the apartment is the lack of views from any windows, so unless you go along the lane, and then get spectacular views of the Cobb etc, you could be anywhere. That's not something the owners can do anything about, so apologies for bringing it up, but it's useful for visitors to know this when booking. Generally a very pleasant, comfortable stay.
