When I booked the holiday there was a photo of the decking and patio doors which I thought belong to the holiday let.
They actually belong to the flat underneath which was a bit misleading., that photo has now been removed. The listing also says, enclosed garden but it's not fully enclosed as there is no side gate. This is one of the reasons I chose this place as we good leave the doors open so the dogs could come in and out on there own. Obviously we couldn't do this in the end. The holiday let was great very clean and as We couldn't make use of the garden we used the balcony to chill out in. My only issue with the holiday let was the mattress on the superking size bed, way to firm for me and caused me pain in my back/shoulders. A topper might be an answer but I appreciate it's down to personal preference. Phil was very kind, helpful and welcoming. His little goody pack was a nice touch. As a suggestion I would suggest getting a side gate fitted and garden furniture. I know it says a duplex but it might be worth mentioning there's a flat underneath and it's a shared garden. Overall very satisfied with Phils holiday let. Would happily come back and stay again. Kind regards Craig and Kim.

Weâve stayed in this collection of holiday homes before but this was the first time weâve stopped at Porth View.
The location is generally excellent for its closeness to Newquay but without being noisy. The layout of the properties isnât ideal due to the walk from the car park to the properties but this is a small issue really especially if your suitcase has wheels. The car park is quite small and it can be difficult to park if you have a van or larger car, thankfully for this visit the car park was quite quiet so we had no issues at all. Porth View itself did not disappoint. The property was ideal for our needs, plenty of room for 2 of us and the dog to relax with excellent views out to watch the world go by. Communication/bookings with Sykes and the property owner were excellent before arrival with no issues throughout. The property was clean and organised on arrival, it was clear that everything had been thought about for people visiting with us not needing to really get anything but our food supplies for the week. We enjoyed our stay so much weâve already booked for next year.

This is a well equipped property with a fabulous view (great for watching surfers, body boarders, hover boarders etc) .
It was quiet in late March, I doubt it will be as quiet in high summer given the close proximity of a number of other houses/apartments. One double bed and one room with two singles (each with their own bathroom) provide flexibility for most family units/two couples sharing. The owners provide a library of books and dvd's/videos (not that we used them) which could be useful for rest days rather than time spent outside of the house. It's a lovely place to stay with a view to die for but if you arrive in wet weather make sure you pack a good rain coat as allocated parking is 100-150 yards away from the property . Dog owners or those with young children should also note that there is a sheer drop at the bottom of the garden. Minor gripes:- some washing up liquid and a spare light bulb would have been nice (we arrived to find one lamp bulb broken). This is, however , a lovely place to stay (as evidenced by lots of returnees. names appearing in the guests' comments book).

The cottage is in a beautiful location, absolutely perfect right on the sea, big garden, not secure for dogs we had to tie ours up on lines when they went out, would be great to make it bit more secure but itâs down to dog owners to protect their dogs, it was a lovely property⦠bad points to be corrected are: curtains in rooms too long and were a bit dirty, beds need updating, mattresses were protected but not comfortable new beds would be perfect, we didnât get a great deal of sleep due to this, bathrooms spotless but one in double room could be updated, chairs at dining room table were grubby on the seats, reupholstered and covered in plastic would be perfect, blinds upstairs donât work, other than these things it was just perfect for us, if these things were updated we would come back time and time again as location is amazing, would appreciate knowing if things get upgraded so we can rebook in future

When we arrived at the accommodation there was a funny smell of which we had to buy our own air freshener automatic dispenser to try and mask it.
However on our second day we returned back to over 50 big blue bottle flies. All the windows downstairs had been closed before we went out. We contacted the housekeeper who came round straight away and had someone come out to look who found no reason for them. We tried to find a cause and looked under the kitchen units and was met by rat droppings and rat poison. For the next 2 days we had to spray potent fly spray as we left to come back to 20/30+ dead flies. The work surfaces and floor was covered in dead flies. If we were able to find alternative accommodation in Cornwall (not for lack of trying) we would have left. We opted to stay in a self catering property so we could cook ourselves but we did not feel comfortable with this having seen rat droppings and the dead flies. I have video and photo evidence of this and would appreciate someone contacting me to discuss further
