What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sam - Verified booking

The villa location was ideal and the site was nice and quiet but maybe helped being September we stayed.

It was tricky to find the actual villa at first but after we did then we had no issues getting in etc it was relatively clean, could do with a bit of a touch up mainly in the bathroom area though and my little boy did find a hairband under one of the sofas. The kitchen was well equipped (could have benefited from a little more washing up liquid) but it served its purpose despite us not being able to work the under counter lights. We didn’t cook though only used it for breakfast time. The fridge also doesn’t get to the cold temp needed so food went off quickly even though we tried turning it cooler it didn’t really help but we managed. We enjoyed relaxing in the living room in the evening and it was the perfect base. The only thing which was a huge disappointment was the double bed. It had been well used and twisted so there was a massive dip where all the springs had gone and being 5 months pregnant the mattress alone along with the massive dip made sleeping uncomfortable so that was a shame. But I informed the hosts and they were understanding and said this would be replaced so I would book here again based on that. Otherwise I don’t think we’d be back. We didn’t have a shower mat or bathroom soap but again the hosts got the cleaner to drop them off. If the few things are rectified the villa makes a great base for visiting Cornwall.

      Brilliant holiday home!

We could not have asked for somewhere better!!!! We absolutely loved the location… 2 min drive to watergate bay beach, recommend Wax for an easy family meal. Emily Scott food was lovely and view fantastic (but service less than ideal for the standard of restaurant), we didn’t try the Beach Hut as it was fully booked but I take that as a good sign as was Catch Seafood in the village of Mawgan Porth. The holiday home had sea views and we watched the sun gone down most evenings. Everything had been thought of in this house, super dog friendly with extra blankets to protect the comfy sofas from the dogs, a stair gate to keep dogs downstairs etc. Sofas and Beds super comfy, kitchen and bathrooms very modern and clean. Garden was small but perfect for our needs. Wi-Fi, tv and living space perfect for a family of 4! Some reviews talk about the parking… yes it’s a little tight but we managed to park an XC90 everyday with no issue! There is plenty of swing space and as the parking area is off the main road you can easily take your time if you are worried! Thanks so much Heather for a great week!

We had a lovely stay at Honeycrock.

Owners were welcoming, information provided about the local area, and we enjoyed lovely walks from the cottage door to the beach to have a fire in the evening. We stayed in August, and haven’t been away in the summer before. Soon realised if you want to go to the beach you need to be prepared to get up early to drive down to get a parking space. The cottage was within walking distance (adult legs not child!) of Polly Joke and a little further, Crantock, and Bowgie Inn which is lovely for a pint overlooking the sea. As described in the listing, there is NO WI-FI which was absolutely perfect for us for a complete switch off this week. There are board games and books at the cottage. As described in the listing, the lane to get to the cottage is very rough and you need to be prepared for going at 5 mph down a bumpy lane. This did not bother us at all, but if you have a Lamborghini you might want to bear this in mind! All in all what a lovely place to stay and we would be back in a heartbeat! Have already recommended it to friends

Pros - House was nice and clean.

Comfortable sofa. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of great beaches all within 30 mins drive Cons - Advert is misleading, this is a house on a holiday site, you cannot use any of the facilities there apart from the pub, which is difficult when you have children with you and they have to walk past a pool they can’t use. Headboards on single beds felt like they were coming off and banged whenever you moved on the bed. Shelf in bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and found someone else’s toothpick. Have to park on grass verge as carpark for the house was always full and no marked spaces. Could have done with an easy to read information booklet as was hard to find how to put hot water on. Couldn’t make any of the radiators work but wasn’t an issue as was warm but would have been helpful for drying towels etc. Clothes horse would have been helpful. No plugs near dressing table to plug in hair dryer etc. This is a cheap and cheerful place that would suit people who don’t mind being on a holiday site

Beautiful property, well furnished, however, just a few bits that we felt were missing, not really a negative but issues may be to be considered.

All the doors where very difficult to lock and unlock, the step out of the two patio doors was so deep, we felt it was not safe. The curtains in some of the rooms had no stoppers on them, so when opening curtains, had to be careful not to slide all the way off. Very difficult to get anything dry, as no clothes line and the clothes airer was very small for the property. Lack of soft furnishings - cushions on sofa. The picture of the property is very misleading looks there is plenty of space to park, yet reality is on a very dangerous corner, no mirrors and very difficult to get or out of safely. These are just points that we thought may make the property A1, we certainly cannot fault what was there, and the fresh produce on arrival was lovely. Beautiful surroundings, tranquil plus the wild life of deer and squirrels.Beautiful well maintained property to the highest level and will hopefully return subject to availability.
