The house is lovely and quirky, plenty of space, nice features, well decorated. I can't give it 5 stars though due to a couple of things. Firstly when we arrived, the lock box to get the keys wouldn't work. The housekeeper, Michael, came out and let us in and managed to repair it. Secondly, on the second night, we wanted to use the hot tub. The lights over the tub were not on. I sent Michael a text, he said they should be on as they work on a timer but that I could turn them on outside which I did. We then noticed that the hot tub wasn't very warm and the control panel was completely off. I contacted Michael again who said it was likely there had been a power cut which was disappointing. Yes very disappointing especially as there was no apology. I said I hoped it was an easy fix and he said that it was a simple reset but would take 8 hours to come back up to temperature. One of the reasons we booked the house was for the hot tub. We wouldn't have minded if we had received an apology but none came. It sadly blighted what had been a lovely stay. I would recommend the house though another bathroom or a better 2nd shower rather than one you hold over the bath would probably be more practical.

The cottage itself is of a very high standard - very clean, well maintained and comfortable.
The kitchen is well stocked with all manner of crockery and pans, etc and the bed is lovely and comfortable. The farm is surrounded by beautiful farmland and countryside - there wasnât a day went by without us seeing deer and hares, and often a barn owl! Only a few niggles which would be very easy to put right - some coat hooks to hang wet coats on and a boot tidy for muddy shoes & boots would be handy, as would hooks on the back of internal doors for dressing gowns, etc. Also the bathroom could do with another wall mirror so you are not having to stand over the toilet to see in the existing cabinet mirror! Having said this, none of these issues have stopped us staying twice in this cottage and we may well return for another visit. The surrounding area is lovely and peaceful, perfect for cycling and walking, but within easy reach of the north Norfolk coast. One for Sykes - the description of âGaytonâ on the holiday description is incorrect as the Gayton referred to is in Northamptonshire! This needs rectifying. I wouldnât hesitate to recommend this lovely little cottage.

We booked this property at the last minute and somewhat spontaneously when my wife found it.
It looked fantastic in the pictures and was even better in the flesh. Although it may not look large from the outside it is very extensive and has some really nice features. There were only three of us and the dog most of the time although the in-laws came for a few days too. There is plenty of space and rooms for everyone to have a bit of private time or to come together as you want. It is equipped with everything you may need and the owners couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Personally I loved the courtyard for a spot of afternoon reading whilst watch the fish, but be warned it is a sun trap ! Our son loved the hot tub, which was lovely and big enough for all of us without feeling like we were sitting on top of each other - who needs a pool when you just want to relx in the water ? I cannot recommend the property enough, it is immaculate, tastefully furnished and immensely welcoming - you felt at home and comfortable as you walk through the door....I miss the courtyard already and we only left this morning !

My friends & I go away every year and we all agreed this was the best cottage to date.
The house is beautiful and ticks all our key cottage boxes; hot tub (huge), real fire, close to country pubs (a short drive) country walks & ample sofas (the amount of places that donât have enough sofas for the number of people they sleep is madness). Itâs also dog friendly, thereâs multiple bathrooms/toilets, even a mini garden with a beautiful fish pond (great for a morning coffee) in addition to the main. Itâs quiet and we slept like logs. The main garden was also great for star gazing given little light pollution in the area (also great from the hot tub with a glass of fizz). Parking was also great as we have 4 cars which all easily fit on the guest drive. Whilst slightly tricky to find, once there itâs easy. The owners Michelle & Stephen are lovely and were quick to respond when we had a query, they couldnât be any more helpful, plus provided welcome fizz & milk. We loved our weekend and have discussed returning, it was perfect.

Lovely house, quirky and well decorated. We loved how well equipped it was, especially the kitchen and the log fires. Loved the Christmas decorations. Beautiful details and furniture. Comfortable beds. Nice touch with the hamper. The wifi was essential considering the lack of phone signal. We needed more information about how things worked and the local area. For example, we had to search the internet for instructions for the range cooker as these were not provided. We struggled to find the light switches for the hot tub area. We would have loved to do some local walks, but all the information provided focused on âNorfolk Hideaways â properties in North Norfolk and not local to Wymondham area. The road noise was also very loud at night in some bedrooms. The fridge leaked in the evening (we informed the owner.) Overall though, a brilliant property and perfect for our family Christmas celebrations.
