Lovely place however there was a couple of small changes I would make.
The rug in the lounge was filthy and hadnât been cleaned in some time, the washing mashing needs a good clean, the sink in the kitchen needs cleaning out as there is very bad odour coming from it when the taps are running, the baby highchair also hadnât been cleaned and had food all over it and there is no full length mirror. The outside area is great, hot tub is good, bbq was a great addition and the furniture is perfect. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and bedrooms were very clean. I did get a text telling me the water cleaner had broken and wouldnât be fixed until the following day and for us to boil any drinking water, this was fine and we did appreciate the message. unfortunately what let it down was we didnât get told when the water was fixed and safe again, I did have to contact myself to ask and got told it had been fixed for some time. The management/ receptionists drive around on quad bike very fast and come around the corners very quickly where you canât see as there are high walls. Worth knowing as thereâs and accident waiting to happen, we had a couple of times where we went to come out of the gate and the quad bike came speeding round the corner nearly taking us out.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage which has been decorated to a very high standard.
We met Lindsay when we arrived and she was very welcoming and showed us round. Every bedroom has a en suite shower room. The hot tub was lovely, very well maintained with clear water and they provided plastic glasses so you can have a drink in it. The view from the hot tub to the estuary isnât as good as I thought it would be as there was a wall in the way but if your tall you may still get a good view, none the less, the sound of only birds tweeting was so relaxing. Thereâs also a tarn which is only a short walk and you can walk a bit further and get an amazing view of the estuary. I would highly recommend this cottage, if I came back to the Lake District I would stay here again. Itâs easy to get around from it, close to the main roads and pubs but far enough away for it to feel like your out in the countryside and pure peace and quiet.

Yew Cottage was amazing from the moment we arrived!
Lynsey was there to greet us and show us around the cottage and how to use the facilities etc. the welcome package (bread, eggs, butter, milk, jam and even prosecco!) was a lovely touch. The cottage was stunning, clean, and had all the equipment & facilities we needed, the bedrooms were fantastic all with en suite and plenty of space, we had no trouble fitting the travel cot and pram in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The hot tub is great, even providing flip flops to get to the hot tub! Its all private and the views were stunning. We were all extremely impressed with Yew Cottage and would definitely return and recommend to others. Great stay and place.

Such a beautiful cottage, perfect for a family holiday all together in a peaceful location.
The cottage is in a good location to reach many local attractions - we particularly enjoyed an early morning paddle board on Coniston lake, but also visited Keswick, Windermere, Ambleside and the Beatrix Potter National Trust. Would also recommend the Old Man of Coniston or Ambleside to Troutbeck walk for spectacular views. The cottage was beautiful with a nice garden for our dogs to stretch their legs, a nice balcony to watch the sun come up and a great family kitchen and lounge area for games of an evening. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely property, and lots of space for teens/ young adults/ parents and dogs.
Loved the outdoor terrace with sun from am til mid pm, and the lower terrace was great too. Beautiful garden, plus lawned area for the dogs. We would have hoovered the property on departure, but there wasn't a full size hoover. Plus struggled with some of the fixtures and fittings. Miniture toiletries unnecessary. Property was very rural, and we struggled to find a short circular dog walk route from the property. Easy access to Coniston Water for swimming and watersports as well as Western Lakes walking. Loved Ulverston
