What our customers say about their holidays

    • Christine - Verified booking

The cottage owners were wonderfully welcoming.

The cottage was warm, spotless, spacious and set amongst lawn, woodland and herbaceous borders, with a tennis court and many areas to sit. Full of wildlife including pheasants by day and the owl and hedgehog by night. Loved watching the birds and listening to the owl. There is an adjacent woodland walk, great for the dog to go off lead. The cottage is well located for Wadebridge, Bodmin and the wonderful beaches near Padstow and the NT car park at Trevose Head. Fowey in the south just half an hour’s drive, and there are many wonderful gardens e.g. Trebah and Pinetum nearby, and of course The Camel Trail and Eden Project too. Book early as this cottage is popular! Might be worth noting that garden is not totally secure and may be visited by pheasants and deer, so dogs best kept on lead.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Trelaze and we didn't want to come home.

It is set in the most beautiful gardens and our boys loved the tennis courts. The accommodation is set in the grounds of the owners' house, Peter and Heather, who are the most wonderful, welcoming hosts who invited us to use all of the grounds as if they were our own. They really had thought of everything to make it a home from home and everything was spotlessly clean. The location of Trelaze for us was perfect as it was away from the hustle and bustle but only a short drive to some of our favourite places in Cornwall, only about 20-25 minutes to Port Isaac, Polzeath, Rock or Padstow. Pencarrow House and gardens was only literally only around the corner and definitely worth a visit. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and our boys already want to go back again.

Character house in beautiful, secluded location. We had a wonderful week at Schoopers. It has a 'Swallows and Amazons' feel with a secret path through the woods to be beach/estuary. Sailing, kayaking and bonfres on the beach add to sense of outdoor adventure. Its secluded position means that all you hear are birdsong and the distant drone of speed boats pulling waterskies on the estuary. The house itself has character and amazing views. It is a short drive to Polzeath for surfing/body boarding and a 20 minute walk to Rock Village ( great baker and butcher) via the road or a lovely 25 minute walk along the beach to Rock Waterfront/pubs/restaurants when the tide is out.

Absolutely fabulous just can’t fault anything.

From arriving & meeting the owners, Peter & Heather who were the best, to being welcomed into the property was excellent so lovely thank you. Their cleaner does an absolute superb job as the place is spotless. They do have WiFi now & my son was made up. What an absolute pleasure to stay here so quiet & peaceful. Heather’s lemon drizzle cake is gorgeous & she spoilt us, thank you. We had great fish from my husband & son’s fishing trip in Newquay. We even had use of a massive locking shed for our three bikes & bike carrier. They have thought of everything even down to tea towels and the lovely Heather even put milk in the fridge for us, so nice

The property was spotlessly clean and so well equipped - even doggy treats ready in a biscuit tin, loads of poo bags and a spare lead. Gorgeous view over the estuary to Padstow from the sofa. It's really well positioned to explore Cornwall and only 2 minutes' drive from Wadebridge. Although the carpark is at the pub, it's only a few metres walk from the property and there is a place to unload even nearer the property, so it's really not an inconvenience. The pub does excellent food and is very friendly. We had a lovely time, there were 3 adults, one teenager and a dog. We would definitely rebook. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
