We enjoyed our stay at Avalenn Cottage.
It is handy for Wadebridge with its shops and facilities and travel to other parts of Cornwall is easy. Despite the property being semi-detached it is very quiet and we never heard any noise from the neighbours (who were very friendly when we met them). Our dog also enjoyed having use of the (enclosed) back garden. There was a minor issue with the bin collection, but a quick email to the owners and it was sorted the next day. There were just a few points that the owners might like to consider: the curtains in the main bedroom were quite thin and we were awake at 4:30 every morning with light coming through (I appreciate might not be an issue for every one); also a rubber bath mat in the bath would be good (I'm not exactly infirm yet, but a wet slippery bath can be difficult to negotiate). As a dog owner, I was concerned about the number of oil diffusers dotted about. Some essential oils can be dangerous to dogs if they breathe in the droplets. I didn't know what the contents were, so shut them in the washing machine cupboard during out stay. Perhaps old fashioned air fresheners would be better. I don't want my comments to sound like a criticism as we enjoyed our stay overall, and would book again if in the area.

This was the second time we stayed at Pendeen and once again we really enjoyed it.
The cottage is well equipped and spacious, the three bedrooms allowing my son and daughter to have their own private space. Dining spaces in the kitchen for a quick breakfast and dining room for a long relaxed evening meal is a great feature. The location close to the centre of Wadebridge is excellent for us, being less busy than the coastal villages, and easy to get out and about. The cottage is a short walk from the park which the children enjoy and also the local shops. The coop is close and useful but I thoroughly recommend the independent shops. We had amazing local Scallops and Mussels from the Fishmonger, beef from the butchers and bread from the bakers. Going further, Pendeen is handy for the Camel trail, a great way to get to Padstow with itâs beautiful harbour and great restaurants downstream, and woodlands to Bodmin and Wenfordbridge upstream. Be sure to stop at the cafe for a cream tea or Camel Valley fizz. There are many great bits of coastline less than 30 mins drive away. We enjoyed both the bustling beach at Polzeath and the quieter coastal walks around Lundy and Port Quin. Thoroughly recommend!

We stayed in Wedge Cottage for a family holiday and were very impressed with the location and quality of accommodation. We are regular visitors to Polzeath and Roserrow is a great base. It is an easy 15 min walk to and from Polzeath beach and a similar walk to the Rock shops for fishmonger/bakery/butcher/Spar. The golf course and leisure centre are only a few minutes walk away. The house itself is in a pretty semi-circular mews with parking directly outside. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and is in very good condition. The beds were really comfortable and all with crisp white linen. There was everything we wanted in the kitchen with plenty of crockery/cutlery etc and all the equipment you would need. The garden is fenced so secure if you have small children. The shed in the garden was a god-send for storing surfboards/wetsuits etc. We were lucky with the weather and able to have a bbq (supplied) and eat outside. There was a good welcome pack on arrival with tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, cake along with bin bags, dishwasher tablets and washing up paraphernalia. We will definitely be back!!

We had a fantastic 10 night stay in Wedge Cottage in September 2021. We were 4 adults and 1 under 3 and there was plenty of space in the well equipped open plan kitchen, diner and living room area for us all. There was lots of space in the downstairs bedroom for a travel cot and sufficient wardrobe and drawer space for 3 of us. The double bedroom upstairs was very comfortable and had its own WC. However, all the bathrooms were very clean and immaculately finished. It was great to have a closed off garden for our little one but we didn't get to make too much use of it as we were busy in the waves with the body boards kindly provided in the shed which had all you would need for a beach day too. It was very easy to drive to Polzeath beach in less than 10 minutes or a lovely walk across the golf course if you'd prefer not to pay for the parking.

Pendeen is a first class property.
Great accommodation and presented to a high level of cleanliness, with all modern facilities . I found the property to be very comfortable and the heating system worked perfectly. This was March and cold outside at times. The property is situated just outside the center of Wadebridge and is only a ten minute walk from âPendeen.â It is ideally situated for exploring the Camel Trail, and the beautiful beaches along the North Coast of Cornwall from Newquay to Bude. The beautiful South West Coast Path is also close at hand. Pendeen is a very comfortable family home, on a quiet residential road close to the center of Wadebridge. I would highly recommend the property to anyone looking to explore the Camel Trail or holiday on the beautiful beaches of North Cornwall, walk on the Coast Path or explore Bodmin Moor just a few miles inland.
