Guests say

Pearson's But and Ben is a highly praised cottage in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, celebrated for its exceptional standard, beautiful renovation, and stunning views. Guests have enjoyed the peaceful environment, comfortable stays, and the property's proximity to walks and local attractions. The cottage's well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere have been noted, alongside the thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts.

The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests describing it as spotless and immaculately presented. One review mentioned a minor issue with cleaning, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is highly valued for its quietness, stunning views, and accessibility to local walks and towns. The scenic surroundings and proximity to the Peak District are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Comfort is consistently praised, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds extremely comfortable. However, a few guests noted that the second bedroom was a bit small and the lounge seating could be improved for two couples.

Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and high-quality fixtures. The mention of a lightning strike incident suggests good maintenance, but the same review implies that the facilities were affected, hence the slightly lower score.

While guests have expressed gratitude for welcome gifts such as cake and wine, there are no reviews that specifically comment on the consistency of such gestures. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that these thoughtful touches are a standard offering for all guests.

This is a stunning property. Perfect for a quiet retreat, lots of books and games are provided and the view of the valley is spectacular.. very quiet scenery and a great stepping off point for the peak district. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time and will likely be back again.

Overall, the cottage is lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, and the shower wonderful. The current seating arrangements in the lounge do not fully meet the needs of two couples - there is only one 2 seater sofa, and a couple of individual chairs. The area adjacent to the kitchen is great for meals.

Where do I start!? A gorgeous rustic stone cottage with modern and traditional elements set in picturesque surroundings. The tad bumpy uphill drive to the cottage next to fields dotted with sheep adds to the fun and laughter. Everything from the crockery, to the cookware, the furniture, fixtures, gorgeous hardwood floors, the bedding and mattresses were of extremely high quality. The mattresses were zero gravity of clouds of fluffy softness ☁️
