    St Agnes Holiday Cottages

A trip to the village of St Agnes won't be one you'll forget in a hurry. Nestled on the gorgeous coast of North Cornwall, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to sandy beaches and scenic coastal paths. Enjoy the tranquil nature of Trevellas Porth Beach, or experience first-hand Chapel Porth's surf-worthy waves. The picturesque village is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so you'll be blessed with 360-degree views of Cornwall's countryside during your stay too.

Whether you're booking a family holiday for the whole clan or a romantic getaway for two, our St Agnes holiday cottages have got everything you need for a relaxing break. Most are within walking distance to the beach and all the must-see attractions. Choose a self-catering cottage if you prefer to whip up your own meals. Want to make your stay extra special? Look out for holiday cottages with a hot tub, swimming pool, or sauna. And if you've got your four-legged friend in tow, we've got plenty of dog-friendly cottages too.

St Agnes forms part of the Cornwall Mining World Heritage Site. Here you'll see the iconic Wheal Coates Engine House – an old tin and copper mine. But if it's the seaside you're craving, the North Coast is home to some of the best beaches. Head to Trevaunance Cove for fun for the whole family. There's sand to relax on with an ice cream and rock pools to keep the kids entertained. All that's left to do now is book! And if you need a hand with that, just contact our friendly customer service team.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Rosalind - Verified booking

The house was perfect for our needs and everything provided that we requested and very clean and comfortable.

A lovely welcome package of fresh flowers and cream tea etc was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. There was some discrepancy with the rubbish and recycling information. Bags for recycling were mentioned but no sign of them anywhere, or how and if to separate them. There were three bins outside but not obvious which was which. Yellow bags provided for general waste but black bags were in the bin provided and pink in the waste paper bins! Also we would have appreciated a more comprehensive list of items provided as we brought some things that we didn’t need to and didn’t bring others we needed! Extra towels for bathroom hand towels should be provided too. The very late check in and very early checkout is really unacceptable and frankly unnecessary in the post covid time we are now in. We had a very full car so we’re unable to do a food shop until we had unloaded the car. We also had our baby grandson with us so the early checkout wasn’t ideal with everything else we were required to do. ( stripping beds shouldn’t be the job of guests) We loved the house but would be unlikely to stay again because of the distance to the village and beach. We have stayed many times in and around St Agnes and love to walk from where we stay to the village and beach and buy groceries locally. The extremely narrow lane back towards the Miners Arms wasn’t easy when it’s two way and was a diversion route for the main road closure made it pretty chaotic and hazardous outside the cottage. We were also told by the very kind neighbours that the space next to Goshen Barn directly opposite was a parking bay for the cottage but not until day 5! So had struggled parking two fairly large cars in the small drive. It would have been very useful to have been told this on arrival if not before! We appreciate that much of this is out of your control but perhaps will be useful to be aware of for future guests.

      Lovely holiday at Sunbury Barn.

The barn itself is very clean, modern and stylish with good facilities, in a superb quiet location yet still close to beaches and villages. Nice touch from owners to provide a welcome pack of clotted cream, scones, milk and local apple juice. The living accommodation, being reverse upstairs really works well to take in all the splendid views, fantastic bathroom and hot tub as well as a useful laundry room. The access was a real problem for me, as I have an estate car low to the ground. Not only is the southern access very steep but also very twisty at the start, I felt like Colin McRae(rally driver) getting up it and the north entrance is strictly for tractors, it's just a track with a lot of overgrowth which is not good for your paintwork. I was lucky that the weather was good as I would not have been able to drive up it in the wet. This did not detract from what was a great holiday, I'm just being honest and stating facts, it is not meant as a criticism. The wifi is also hit and miss, maybe because of the location, which can result in no TV signal as well. I've left the best until last and have to mention the two beautiful dogs Maisy and Daisy (mom and daughter), who are the real stars here, so friendly, loving and great fun.

This is the perfect family/couples retreat.

Situated a little out of town yet easily walkable or a short drive to local pub, shop, beach etc. The residence is situated in the middle of Cornwall so it’s pretty much an hour to everywhere. We spent most of our time exploring the local area & all its gorgeous spring time natural beauty. Although some Cornish roads can be busy and, not particularly safe to walk, I downloaded an app (windymaps) which maps all of the public footpaths making local exploring really easy. The house is finished to a really high standard & comes with everything you’ll need for a home from home stay. We were travelling with our baby & a high chair, cot & stair gate were readily available. Being slightly away from the coast & benefitting from a patio & huge lawn (that gets the sun all day&eve) it is the perfect sun trap. Ideal for the book worm, family games or outdoor cooking. On that note local produce & farm shops are really easy to find from this location. We would highly recommend Sunbury Barn to anyone. The stunning & relaxing views from the hot tub, plus the calm & safe family environment made it a wonderful break for us.

Just returned from a glorious week spent at Sunbury Barn.

The owners Caroline and Jim, were extremely helpful and gave us useful tips and suggestions for good walks, places to visit and were always on hand but in a discreet way. Their 2 beautiful dogs came to say hello regularly and kept my daughter entertained with their ball games! The barn itself is gorgeous, exactly as described. It's like a home away from home with every single thing that you could possibly need whilst on holiday. They have thought of everything. From the lovely welcome goodies in the kitchen to the comfy beds, the never ending hot water and lovely powerful showers. We loved it all. The hot tub was a real treat in the evening especially with the bats flying over head. We were very lucky with the weather which made our holiday even more fantastic, however there is still so much to see and do in the area that we must go back! We would definitely book Sunbury Barn again.

Our stay at Sunbury Barn was amazing.

It was cosy, warm and in the perfect location for visiting nearby towns and beaches. The barn was clean, and welcoming with a cream tea on arrival. The towels were fresh and soft and the hot tub was a perfect addition. We were looked after during the storm that hit and warned that there maybe a power cut. This was an added touch of kindness and allowed us to ensure we were prepared. Local beaches and pubs were lovely too. We would love to visit again next year. The only tiny, small detail that was slightly disappointing was there were no complimentary toiletries as stated in the description. There was an empty box of dishwasher tablets and no hand soap and only one toilet roll. As we arrived really late at night there was chance to rectify this before we went to bed, so first stop was the coop the next morning. Again this wasn't a problem, just a small suggestion.
