After staying along Marine Parade for a number of years in different apartments, we were excited for our stay.
Admittedly, I was slightly disappointed in some of the facilities and comfort elements available. The bedrooms and bathroom were relatively spacious. However, we did find the main bed extremely uncomfortable (way too firm).. resulting in a few aches and poor sleep throughout the course of the week. The fact that the blinds are extremely thin (almost paper like) and are unaccompanied by curtains, the rooms are extremely bright from the early morning. Both my husband and my daughter struggled managing to sleep past 5.30am due to being unable to block out any light. This hugely impaired the week. The living area was well equipped with DVDs and games, however, the sofa was really unwelcoming and extremely uncomfortable. The cushions do not support anything, and it felt extremely worn. This resulted in a bit of a fight for the lone bucket chair of an evening when we resided back to the apartment. The rug in the living room was also disgustingly dirty, and rolling up at the corners causing a trip hazard. With the cost of the apartment, we really would have anticipated better. The kitchen would benefit with a cupboard specifically for storage of food items. As we stayed for 7 nights, items like tea, coffee, cereal, snacks, juice were essential.. however, there was absolutely no where to store these. Many things were left in bags on floors, which isnât really the experience we were hoping for. A main concern was when we came to dispose of garbage on the upper floor. My husband went to find where the disposal was, and the door on the top floor slammed shut, locking him out on the roof terrace with no method of contacting. His phone was still in the apartment. He was locked on the roof for nearly 40 minutes and he had to climb over a fence and through a hedge to get back resulting in dirty clothes and a cut head! He had the apartment keys however none would open the top terrace door. The apartment didnât feel particularly clean.. personally finding used hair bobbles, bracelets, clips from what I can assume was past residents. There was also no tools to clean it personally. Having an apartment opposite the beach almost guarantees sand / dirt, however no brush or hoover was available to keep on top of the mess. More than once throughout the week, I attempted to clean the floor with a dustpan, however, this wasnât a practical option. Overall⦠the beautiful views of Lyme Regis guaranteed my family a nice week.. however, admittedly, most places, if not all that we have stayed in prior were better equipped than this one sadly.

My friend and I very much enjoyed our 4 days spent in the Lobster apartment.
The views were spectacular, a pair of binoculars would have been an added bonus, and the property was furnished and equipped to a high standard. I had noticed in some reviews that the degree of comfort of the sofa had been mentioned, this didn't seem to be a problem although we didn't spend much time in the apartment as the weather was so glorious to sit on it for long! Perhaps a little low and too deep for me but not an issue. I was in the double bedroom and the firmness of the mattress was ideal, I couldn't have slept better. Food storage in the kitchen area was lacking slightly but we could understand how it would have been difficult to squeeze in any more cupboard space. We very much appreciated all the small touches, books, dvd's, hairdryer, iron etc and the discreet notices. Unfortunately, we didn't get round to eating in Tom's restaurant below though the menu looked very interesting, but the owner, (we assumed) was extremely friendly and helpful. Booking through Sykes was easy and they were helpful too as was the person who happened to greet us at Lyme Bay holidays when we picked up the keys. All in all it was a wonderful and much needed short break away after a very difficult time in my life. I would certainly recommend Lobster, and indeed already have to friends upon my return.

This is my second visit.
The location is perfect. Cleanliness 10/10 - well done housekeeping. Some milk would have been appreciated - thank you for the other welcome pack items. Quality of the towels could be better - a Bath sheet and a flannel would be nice, and a hand towel for the kitchen. Shower needs a shelf/hanger for soaps etc. Bedrooms need coat hooks or over door hangers. However you need to throw away all of the furniture in the living room and start again. The settee and chair are awful. The dining chairs are rickety and the table scratched. The mattresses are very hard but we adjusted to the level of firmness! We could not find the bin store - the keypad on the door would not open and it was not clear if the bins that were outside the other door were for Lobster. I will certainly return for a third visit as the position and views cannot be beaten. Your price was also very competitive. On my previous visit you could lock the staircase door and outer door - not any more, so we did feel that unauthorised people could access the staircase. Perhaps this is for fire regulations ? We look forward to a third visit and hope the settee and chair will be regimes in a skip.

Beautiful property, absolutely immaculate and the welcome pack was superb.
It is so well equipped, had everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. The only thing that isnât made clear at all and should be taken into account is the fact that you will be spending an extra £30-50 (dependant on length of stay) in parking on top of the cost of the accommodation. It is an absolute pain to get your belongings into the accommodation, in the height of season there is know way you will get parking anywhere near the location to unload and believe me, carrying your luggage up to the long stay car park is not for the faint hearted. The instructions are quite vague about this on the description, I emailed the company prior to our visit to enquire about where to park but did not get a reply and even going into the main office again they were vague and told us to drive to somewhere which was not accessible due to road works and stick our hazards on along the seafront but this was also not possible. Definitely something to consider when booking.

A lovely little apartment just behind the front at Lyme, pretty much right in between the old town and Cobb hamlet.
A little lane takes you round to the front. The apartment is on three floors with the bedroom and bathroom on the lowest level, living area in the middle, and a bright kitchen/dining area at the top. This leads out to a pleasant outdoor area with table, chairs, and benches. Everything you might need is provided. We did have some problems getting a signal on the TV in the living area, which involved a lot of fiddling with leads, but it settled down after a while, and it's not as if you're in watching TV much when there's so much to see in Lyme and the surrounding area. The only issue with the apartment is the lack of views from any windows, so unless you go along the lane, and then get spectacular views of the Cobb etc, you could be anywhere. That's not something the owners can do anything about, so apologies for bringing it up, but it's useful for visitors to know this when booking. Generally a very pleasant, comfortable stay.
