This is constructive criticism of our stay in October 2024.
On arrival we couldnât get the key to open the main door to the building. There was a scrappy bit of paper on the door saying the handle was broken and to use the Yale key. There was no handle. It was 5.40pm, we phoned Dream Cottages, it was closed but gave an emergency number. That number wasnât answered, you had to leave a voicemail which they said was monitored. Nobody called back. We managed to get in after many attempts. The 5pm check in is too late as the letting agents are closed then. Most places check in is at 3pm. We found no soap at the bathroom sink or hand towel. Only 1 partially used toilet roll. In the kitchen a tiny amount of liquid handwash, no kitchen roll or hand towel, and only 2 dishwasher tablets for 6 days. The oven was very difficult to work even with the instructions left. We had to look on a YouTube video to get it working. There is a large cream leather sofa in the lounge which is very grubby. As I sat on it it did its own thing and reclined and extended. It was impossible to put back. It meant that the back of the sofa was at an angle and not comfortable. The other chaise end of the sofa also moved out as I sat on it. Underneath the sofa was a lot of dust and dirt. We did contact Dream Cottages about the missing front door handle and the lack of basic supplies. They said it was up to the owner what they provided. We didnât have a car with us so a bulky shop involved a bus trip. The following day a new door handle had been fitted which made getting in much easier. This is a beautifully positioned flat that is let down by things that would not be expensive to provide.

I would highly recommend this property for the following reasons: superb location.
..we didnât use the car all week as everything you need is on your doorstep, no more than 10 mins walk away. No parking costs as a permit included in rental price. Stunning views from the bay window. Lovely, contemporary, newly refurbished property with super comfy beds and sofa. Very stylishly presented. Great shower in bathroom, brilliant pressure and tons of hot water! Fully equipped kitchen with good size coffee mugs and nice cutlery and crockery. Lovely spacious master bedroom with separate dressing area. At the back of the property so no noise from the street if window closed. Couple of minor negatives: It was noisy in the front bedroom due to the old sash windows and stag/hen groups spilling out of the pubs nearby. Very hot in the apartment but a large fan was provided which was a godsend. The mattress protectors and sheets on the single beds were too small due to the extra thick mattresses (lovely!) so they kept pinging off and rucking up every night with two fidgety kids being a bit uncomfortable. Was very pleased to find there is a washer/dryer at the property...just wish it had been listed in the description...I would have taken less clothes! Highly recommended and would definitely go again!

This is now our third visit to Weymouth, and I can honestly say that "The Kings Statue" is by far the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in, even at other resorts.
It's location is superb, just across from the beach, with wonderful sea views, right on the edge of town, for shops and restaurants. It is so lovely furnished with quality furniture, the sofa and chairs are so comfortable to sit and watch the ever changing scenery outside. The beds were so comfortable, had some of the best nights sleep we've had for a long time. My seven year old son loved sitting in his bed and watching the "big ships" out in the bay. The kitchen is so well equipped, not that we did much cooking, but had everything you would need. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival. The "Dorset Happy Hamper" was a real treat on arrival, full of local products, my son loved the "posh" chocolate, and a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge. The parking permit was an added bonus, and we were lucky to find a space just behind the apartment (I appreciate that this may not always be the case). We loved it so much we have already booked another week in the summer, and I'm sure this will be the first of many at "The Kings Statue". Thank you Dream Cottages for making this a few days away to remember. Five stars all around.

Amazing apartment with views that were totally captivating. Its perfect location meant we were able to enjoy walks along the front and get back for a warm cuppa and still continue to enjoy the view of the sea. The beds were comfortable with plenty of storage in the bedroom. Bathroom was beautifully finished although the shower cubical was a little snug, but there is a beautiful bath with hand held shower head. Kitchen was lovely and main living space was made extra special with the view- sofas were a little low but perfectly comfortable for enjoying the view with a cuppa. Draw back slightly is the stair case up to the property as steps are steep but the view makes it worth every step! The parking in front of the garage is really useful but our top tip would be to reverse on to it. We had a wonderful week, and would highly recommend, especially if you’re someone who enjoys a dip in the sea! We hope to be back.

All in all it's a great apartment which served us well for our young family.
The location was ideal and the road was quiet and felt safe and the parking was secure. Just a few things that could enhance the experience... 1) a few more bits of kitchenware (one bowl was cracked so we avoided using it, could always do with more than one tea towel for a week's stay, would have also been useful to have some soap in the kitchen - we had to buy one as the complimentary bar of soap in the bathroom soon went between 3 of us). 2) I was expecting a little note/pack to tell us about things like the bins/recycling and instructions for the washing machine - the washing machine had water in it so I'm assuming it's broken which is a shame as we could have done with doing some laundry 3) the shower was positioned a bit low for my husband who is 6ft
