What our customers say about their holidays

Back from a lovely weeks stay.

We were welcomed by the owner and generous scones and cream tea. The cottage was charming with an airy feel and extremely comfortable beds! The kids loved the novelty of sleeping upstairs whilst we were downstairs and having their own ensuite. We were asked if we wanted the hottub on for our arrival and then were told it would be the next day but we didn't mind. The hottub was also not wood-fired and was in an outbuilding which was a bit of a let down as the scenery and views are spectacular, but, the children enjoyed it. 'Blackrock' was the cottage next door and we stayed in 'Leghorn' on the end. The garden is a little suntrap for early evening lounges - we brought our own picnic blankets. We got to meet the resident, free-range goat who is rather a character. So quiet apart from the sounds of nature and livestock. Our favourite go-to was Charlestown which we well recommend along with The Eden Project.

      Very spacious property.

Extremely clean and comfortable. All furniture, appliances, crockery etc of high quality. Lovely cream tea ready for us to have at the property on arrival is a lovely touch. Enclosed back garden so the dogs were safe. Hot tub was great every night once we worked it out. Just don’t put too much wood in there or it gets too hot. Property in very quiet surroundings . 20 minute walk to the Eden project or 5 minutes in the car. If you are a runner would definitely recommend going down there to do the parkrun on Saturday morning as you get to stay in the Eden project for free and it’s so worth the visit . Would definitely recommend staying at Blackrock because of how comfortable and spacious it is and in a great location for exploring the Cornish coast

Beautiful accommodation, great location with amazing views!

Was disappointed that despite paying to have our dog join us for an additional cost, we were notified on arrival that they could not be left unattended at any time, this did mean we couldn’t go out for an hour or so for a meal or drink without the dog. This should have been more clearly communicated. The dog was not allowed upstairs, which was of course completely understandable but when the gate was left open by mistake and made the bed sheet dirty, we were unable to clean the bedding as there wasn’t the washing machine advertised. We were then billed £28 for a single bed sheet without notice. These two things contributed to a very disappointing experience in the end.

We very much enjoyed our stay here!

With fabulous views overlooking the countryside and sea from our bedroom window, to the enclosed garden at the back making it very safe for our dogs, Black Rock was everything we needed. It was nice having our own bathrooms, the kitchen was well stocked and functional, the beds were comfortable, and for us, the cherry on the cake after a 7 hour drive was that the owners had pre-heated the hot tub for us so all we had to do was stoke the fire up a little more, and soak! The addition of milk, teabags and all the ingredients for a Cornish cream tea was a lovely touch, and we also bought a box of delicious fresh eggs. All in all, a lovely stay and would definitely recommend! :)

      11/10 rating!

Extremely grateful to have spent the week celebrating our honeymoon and our daughters 1st birthday in such a lovely house & area! Definitely worth the 6 and a half hour drive! My wife is a huge lover of farm animals and it was brilliant to have been able to say good morning to the cows every day with our daughter. The house was immaculate, a stunning view looking out to the coast and no noise around. Only little point to make was we didn’t buy sauces or cooking spray when we did our shop as presumed they might have been in a cupboard but that was the only tiny snag we had all week. 110% will be booking again. Thank you so much!
