What our customers say about their holidays

    • Gary - Verified booking

We were impressed with Welymora from the start.

The Kitchen is well planned with modern easy to use appliances including an Air Fryer which proved very useful. The balcony overlooks the sea and because it is south facing it is in full sun from first thing in the morning till early evening. Even though it was fairly chilly out and about, it was quite warm in the balcony. The rooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and clean. Myself and my wife chose the double in the first floor as this gave us access to the garden which allowed us to let our dog out first thing in the morning. It also gave us almost instant access to the beach which was great for taking the dog for a walk (he has never been so clean after his many swims in the sea). My Mother & Father in law were extremely impressed with the accommodation, large screen TV, and the balcony in particular as well as the comfort and views from their bedroom with en-suite. There is a very nice Cafe down the road serving very good quality food at reasonable prices and there is a bar called the View which is also worth a visit. Lynn (owner) was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Lynn. We would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and next time we are looking at Wales for our Holiday, Welymora will be number one on the list.

We had a lovely 2 week holiday in the cottage.

The coast path and beaches of the Llyn Peninsular are beautiful. The cottage has lots to recommend it and I would go back. It has all the kitchen equipment you need and the sitting rooms are comfortable. however, I would not be the first, from reading the visitors book, to say that the bed in the main bedroom does need replacing. It is uncomfortable and noisy when you turn over. The garden is covered in slate to supress the weeds but you can't just then leave it. It is now very overgrown with tall grass along all the paths and the bramble is now taking over. It just needs someone to go and spend a bit of time pulling up and cutting back. DVD player not working despite putting in new batteries. Does the ITV signal always go off at 9.30?! And no Wifi but lots of attempt has been made to get it if the yards of wiring is anything to go by. So all very fixable. And Penllech beach is so close and the coast path in either direction just great.

Property was clean and had sufficient space.

Main issue is with the kitchen. We had the oven on for 20 minutes and it was still stone cold, so gave up with that. The hob was either burning things or really slow no in-between. No instructions were left about the bins so took initiative and just put it in the green bin outside. Also no instructions left about bedding or anything so have placed all dirty stuff on bed to be washed, but wasn't sure if this was what they wanted us to do. Parking was not allocated but there was a decent amount outside, some times a couple of houses down though. The steps up to the property are quite steep and there are steps going to the kitchen and master bedroom. The garden has multiple levels up separate flights of stairs. Toilet roll was placed in a cupboard downstairs, which is not expected, but at least there was some. Overall, ok for sleeping, but could not do anything fancy in the kitchen.

Our third stay at Welymora, great house in a great location for beach , town and everything.

Some lovely level walks. House well equipped, towels fantastic, large and fluffy. Right on the beach, we watched the dolphins swimming just off the beach, from the balcony. Nice glass fronted balcony, so if it’s windy you can get out of the wind. Great house for all ages, ground floor bedroom with doors to the garden. Great carport to leave your car. Which we hardly used, train station walking distance, start of the Cambrian line, most amazing train ride goes all the way down the coast to Aberystwyth. If your a fisherman, great fishing off the beach in front of the house . Couldn’t recommend more, one of the best places we’ve stayed for a beach holiday literally in front of the house. We hope to return again. Lynn owner is always great with communication, thank you Lynn for another great holiday.

Great holiday home with quality finish throughout.

Comfy beds, nice towels and linen. Excellent kitchen as we like to cook. Overall really good location to explore North Wales. Local beach isn’t worth the c1 mile walk from the house as the very narrow lanes are pretty busy with cars. Shame the pub is closed for so long for renovation so no where nearby to eat. Looks like it will reopen in 2025 sometime. Found the charming little ‘honesty shop’ in the painted shed in the pub grounds, after chatting to a local. Bread, milk and other essentials in stock! Great farm shop for quality meat and bits of veg etc in the car park at Indigo Jones Slate Mine about 5 mins drive away. Overall really great holiday home base with great facilities, would absolutely recommend staying here if you are looking for a base to drive to explore from!
