What our customers say about their holidays

    • Gillian - Verified booking

We had a lovely stay in a well decorated and thought out renovated cottage.

All the hot water and showers etc worked really well, the decor was lovely and neutral but cosy making the cottage feel more spacious but also homely. We had a couple of hiccups which were dealt with really swiftly and directly with the owner via text that we’re nothing to do with the cottage- we were plagued with a vomiting bug on our first night! However, it would have been useful if there had been a spare set of bedding provided for emergencies like this as we were scrambling around with towels at 2am. We came as a family of four with a dog and a 2 and 3 year old. The cottage was safe enough for them but it wasn’t geared up to accommodate children of this age at all, and for younger toddlers the stair gate is half way up the stairs off the main living area so you’d be eyes-on constantly. There are no child catches on the under sink cupboard either and the log burner is unguarded. If you’re coming with little kids I’d recommend bringing a step for the bathroom and plastic plates/cups/cutlery which I naively was expecting some sort of provision for given that there was a high chair provided! Thankfully there was a stick hoover to keep the place relatively clean. The beds were very comfortable and had lovely white company bedding. I would have found it useful to have some hooks in the bedroom with the ensuite- I actually ended up taking the pictures off the walls to hang up my dresses! A mirror would also have been useful for doing hair etc. my husband and I took the two joined single beds Over the double as we are used to a superking and there was a TV in the room. It also had the ensuite with shower. It seemed slightly confused upstairs as to which bedrooms had been set up for parents vs kids though with a wardrobe full of hangers in the smaller double. The kitchen was well equipped with every essential utensil- tried and tested as I ordered some meal kits for our week long stay! The mugs were very small though- I love a bucket of tea in the morning so would bring my own next time. The wine and fizzy wine glasses were perfect though - not those awful thick short stemmed goblet things you often get in self catered places. Given the little luxury finishes like WC sheets and thick John Lewis towels and elegant glassware/crockery it would have been a nice finishing touch to have some toiletries/robes to give the stay a higher end and more hotel like feel. A BBQ outside with the rattan chairs would also have been a very welcome addition. Overall our stay was lovely and Im looking at booking the same week for next year!

This is without question the bast place in the UK we have ever stayed.

The property was immaculately clean, was situated in a fantastic location, and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Just perfect for the type of holiday we wanted. There are lots of lovely walks about, several small beaches near and close to some great sightseeing locations. Plus, although you feel like you’re literally in the middle of nowhere, you’re less than a 15 minutes drive from Holyhead with every shop and amenity you could need, so forgetting something or taking everything you’ll need for your stay isn’t a problem. The property was completely clean, and although might not look it with the open spaces, really comfy and cosy of an evening. The open plan upstairs is great for small families and you’re treated to fantastic view from where ever you’re sitting. I’m really missing enjoying breakfast looking over the gorgeous scenic hills You can really tell that Sam, the host, has a passion for making peoples holiday special. Her attention to detail is brilliant, and she had just the right level of contact as to ensure your holiday and the property is okay, but nottoo much as to be overbearing. She was even so nice when our toddler caused a small breakage, only charging us for the replacement item, and not any additional breakage charged. Anglesey has become a firm favourite of mine, and although I do like staying in different properties each visit, I will struggle to not want to come back here, and will probably base my next visit to the isle around the availability of this property.

The property is well maintained and very clean.

The beds are comfortable and there are lots of equipment in the kitchen. I didn't realise how much grey was used in decorating from the photos, it's everywhere. Easy check in/out process. The amount of recycling is a bit confusing so a little guide maybe helpful and no spare bin bags were left which is quite difficult if you have a large group. Also I received a text message at 9pm on our second night, from the owner; saying I could not charge my car via a 3 pin plug as it was not PAT tested, I was a bit confused but stopped charging. I then got an email at 10am the next day from Sykes saying the owner had called saying they were concerned about me charging as there insurance doesn't cover this. I have never had this problem at multiple other holiday rentals I have stayed at. None of this is in the terms and conditions when I looked prior to arrival. I spoke to Sykes who were generally unhelpful. I explained that not all the devices people bring will be PAT tested i.e. phone chargers etc. Which then they didn't adequately respond to. Sykes answer was book a place which dedicated ev charging next time, unfortunately there aren't many available in the summer holidays in Anglesey. Overall quite a nice place to stay, tainted by Sykes poor customer service and having to spend time using public chargers when this could have been easily done while in the house.

My family and I recently stayed at Glasfryn, and found the experience to be wonderful.

The accommodation was exactly as described, and looked every bit as immaculate and welcoming as the photos suggested. We were not left wanting for anything during our stay - the kitchen came with every cooking tool imaginable, there were spare cushions, and the conservatory even had a Dyson heater/fan. We chose this cottage based on its convenient location: close to nature (Breakwater Park and South Stack), whilst not far from beaches, and also near Holyhead for the train station. There was also a small general store a minute's walk away which was useful. All in all, it gave us a fantastic base from which to explore the island. I would not hesitate making a booking here again, and will certainly recommend to any family or friends wishing to stay on Anglesey!

Had a wonderfull stay 2nd to 5th April, with our grandchildren and dog.

Cottage is stunning set in a beautiful location, close to beach and amenities. Recommend the Bull for food, we found it delicious and much better quality and portion size and great value for your money. The cottage has everything you will need for your stay, lovely welcome pack on arrival. Thank you so much. Nothing to much trouble for the owners. Beds are nice and comfortable and a great night's sleep in a rural setting, just the birds to wake you in the morning. I would highly recommend this property, great for exploring the island and I do think we covered 99% on our 4 day stay. Just book it you will not be disappointed.
