What our customers say about their holidays

    • David - Verified booking

      On arrival everything looked good.

On entering the cottage we noticed an old and damp smell. We could not put any of our cloths in the drawers because of the damp smell. Later on we had to move the settee only the notice that the back had fungus on and some of the walls and tables also had damp showing. We think that the whole cottage needs a deep clean except for the bathroom which looks like it was new fairly recently. In the kitchen thinks did not get any better. The oven didn’t work, the knobs were dirty and the numbers for heat we’re worn out. The washing machine was really dirty and rusty so we did not use it and the fridge had rust on the door. All the utensils needed to be washed before we could use them. Reading the reviews from years back it must have been so much better. On the good side the garden was really nice with ponds and lawns and lots of seating areas and we were allowed to walk our dog anywhere. The owner was a lovely lady living there but I think it is all a bit much for her now. So sorry that this sounds so bad but it could be a lovely cottage with a good renovation

We booked this on the great garden that was advertised - unfortunately there was dog mess around the gardens and paths from the owners own dog (we did witness this) that was never cleared up.

Another property that was on the owners property had a dog that actually got through the hedge and wanted to attack our dog or selves (luckily the owner managed to get it back) The cottage is decent but in urgent need of some TLC. There was no matching plates, and what was there were chipped, the cups were old with scratch marks inside etc and the kitchen cupboard floor was worn out and had holes in. All the appliances were very old and worn and rusty. There was no welcome pack to say where the local doctors, vets etc were or any other local facilities. There was only a list of pubs and restaurants. It would not take a great deal of time and money to make the cottage feel more welcoming - along with no dog mess. I have no idea if Sykes will actually publish this - but I would not say that this comes up to the expectations we have of a Sykes listed property as we have been using them for years and normally are more than pleased.

This is THE most amazing place we have stayed in during more than 15 years of family holidays, I can’t imagine finding anywhere that’s more comfortable, welcoming and better equipped.

The owner, Sam, obviously has a great passion for Ty Nant which is evident in the quality of the furniture, fittings and facilities provided as well as the standard to which the place is maintained and cleaned. She couldn’t be more considerate, thoughtful and helpful too. As a family group of eight with ages ranging from 2 to 75 years, there was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy time either individually or together, indoors as well as out. Whether it was local beaches, nature walks or attractions like the Sea Zoo, there were also plenty of activities that appealed to each of us. So, we found Ty Nant to be the most wonderfully comfortable and attractive cottage with an amazing owner who goes “the extra mile” in her efforts to ensure guests have a superb holiday, and which is perfectly located in ideal surroundings. Will we go back for a third time? You bet!! Allan.

Our 2nd stay at this fabulous place.

It is by far the cleanest holiday home we have ever been to. The garden is very doggy friendly with absolutely no escape holes even for our little terrier!! 3 of the 4 bedrooms are en-suite and the kitchen is well stocked. The wifi and phone signal can be poor but that is the area and can't be helped and didnt spoil our enjoyment at all. We had already made a booking (made last year) for a 3rd visit next August 2023 - that is how much we love this special place! We were very sad therefore that our booking for August 2023 was cancelled and Ty Nant is no longer available as a holiday home. However we wish Sam the owner all the very best for the future and in the event that she changes her plans and continues to let Ty Nant as a holiday home - we will certainly be back!!

      Our new favourite.

In the 40 years since we married we have stayed on Anglesey at least once a year. We have stayed in every sort of cottage/ caravan and hotel. We really love Trearddur, but this has got to be our favourite. We stayed as a party of 11 in this cottage and next door for an anniversary celebration, there is literally something for everyone. We had runners, walkers, bird watchers, TV watchers and book readers....we also had some trampoliners by the end of the holiday. The cottage is comfortable clean and has literally everything you need and more. Sam, the host could not have been more helpful, she found us walks and even an Indian Takeaway that delivered. I would book to go again today, but it is incredibly popular, as soon as I see a vacancy I'll be in there. Karen
