Saltwater Cottage provided a relaxing holiday because it’s comfortable, very well equipped and situated in a convenient location. There is nothing negative to say about it. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The location and availability because we left booking a bit late! We booked Saltwater Cottage, even though there were no photos available and it didn’t have a star rating, because Coquet Cottages only offer excellent accommodation. Everything we needed was there in the cottage so our holiday began as soon as we walked through the door. We liked everything about it! The garage and off road parking are convenient and the patio area and garden are lovely. The TV is great! We were delighted by the toiletries provided and items in the kitchen that can easily be forgotten to bring. The scones were delicious too! Thank you- lovely accommodation.

Very well appointed cottage, with lots of lovely touches.
Attention to detail is superb. A Nespresso machine and air fryer are in one of the cupboards but couldnât find the listed dishwasher! Dog blankets and towels, bowls etc for our four-legged family member. Beautifully finished and very clean. Was a little chilly downstairs first night despite using the log burner so the owner changed the temperature on the heaters for us the next day. The only negatives are a lack of curtain/blind at the front door, which with no frosted glass, left the door feeling a little exposed! The bathroom sink was very slow to drain and intact actually fills when running the tap (without a plug)! A perfectly situated little cottage with easy access to the Northumbrian coastline and the chance to explore NE England and SE Scotland.

We were last here in Saltwater Cottage in October 2022 and this holiday has been just as enjoyable. The forecast for the week was terrible but luckily it was wrong and we’ve had lots of bright sunshine. The walk from Boulmer to Craster is stunning – beautiful bays and plenty of sea birds. The Cottage Inn at Dunstan has excellent food (at very reasonable prices). The Ship Inn has well kept bar. Elan continues to make delicious pizzas. The fish and chip van at Beadnell is a good stopping point (fri-sun) as is The Lazy Cow (farm) selling proper coffee and homemade cakes. High (or Low) Newton to Embleton is a good beach walk – then on to Dunstanburgh and Craster for a seafood lunch at the pub. We hope to be back soon!

We have had a wonderful week at the Lodge, the owners really care about making your stay as comfortable as possible and nothing seems to be forgotten.
The lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need to make a home from home, the beds are comfy, the kitchen is well equipped, the fixtures and fittings are modern and high quality, and furnishings are stylish and cosy. A lovely welcome pack awaited us. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Perfect! We were blessed with sunny autumn weather which showed off the glorious Northumberland countryside to its colourful best, especially for long walks around Cragside and Wallington, and we had some lovely visits to the amazing beaches at Bamburgh and Druridge which are recommended especially if you have your dog with you as we did - she loved it! Thank you Gary and Tracey -we hope to be back.

The place was so equipt and had everything we needed and more and cannot fault the place.
The beds were super comfy! However, unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to the lodge due to potentially the type of detergent used for the bedding, little dusty in places etc. Maybe you guys could use a product that is for all types of skin. Also the wifi didnât work so we had to use our phone data which wasnât a problem as we were only there for a relaxing get-away. However, apologises this was not the owners fault at all, but the caravan nearby were having a party (no worries - everyone lives their best life) but because they had their music blasting until after 1am it was a rather sleepless night rather than relaxing. Nonetheless, superb lodge, and would recommend it.
