What our customers say about their holidays

    • Kayleigh - Verified booking

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Boskednan Wartha and all I can say is Wow!

! We were very much looking forward to our week away and we were not disappointed at all. On arrival we were greeted with such a beautiful house, very clean and with all the amenities you could need. The full fruit bowl and tray of Cream Tea for on our arrival was a very nice touch too! This house is beautiful and the location for us was perfect - we visited lots of places including St.Ives, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Lands End and they were all within a few miles and a short drive. The garden is amazing, my children loved playing out there and were very excited when the little rabbits came out too. Finally the owner is just lovely, we stopped and chatted a few times through the week and he was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be booking to go back and fingers crossed for the same weather we had this time! I would definitely recommend Boskednan Wartha to anyone looking to stay somewhere a little quieter, with lots of amazing outdoor space and within easy reach of so many beautiful towns and attractions.

This is a lovely cottage, with all of the home comforts to make our stay enjoyable.

There were 2 issues, one of which was within the control of the owner and the other not. Parking was an problem. Shortly after arrival, we found a parking space right outside the cottage. However the 1st time we went out in the car, we lost it and were never able to regain it. This meant for the rest of the week the car was left in restricted parking areas, but fortunately we did not get a ticket! The other issue was there were areas, in particular under the beds, where the cleaning left a little to be desired - it looked a little rushed. The bedding and soft furnishings were impeccable, but the general cleaning left us wondering how much attention had been given to the current pandemic. Having said that, we all very much enjoyed our stay at Mackerel Sky.

Superb cottage in splendid surroundings and very handy for both sides of the peninsula.

The garden is magnificent and has a continuous supply of rabbits and foxes to watch from the conservatory, which itself is lovely to sit in if you have rainy days.. We only met Mike, who was lovely, and helpful in pointing out routes. i especially liked that there was a fine supply of essential stuff: a pile of jeye cloths, lots of cleaning liquids and toilet rolls. If we have one complaint it is that we couldn’t get the water in the stand-up shower hotter than tepid. I hate overhead shower heads anyway as you can’t direct the flow where you want it and need to wear a shower cap if you don’t want your hair drenched. The water to the bath shower head was lovely and hot. All-in-all a superb place to stay. Thank you to Mike.

      Fabulous week at Boskednana Wartha.

Beautiful bungalow in a secluded and peaceful location. The gardens are amazing and a sun trap on an afternoon. Garden furniture and umbrellas provided to be able to enjoy it. Plenty of opportunities to explore the rural hills and moors on foot from the front door. Inside everything was clean, tidy and well facilitated. Fresh flowers, fruit and a Cornish cream tea to welcome us. Owner called across on our second day to make sure everything was OK and on our last day on driving past him on a nearby country lane again took the trouble to stop and thank us for our stay. It was us who thanked him. If you want a quiet and tranquil base for your stay in Cornwall this is the place for you.

We were a bit worried about a previous report that it was not as clean as it could have been.

We did not find this to be the case. The house was also very well appointed and lots of thought gone into the decor to make this an attractive and comfortable holiday home. I cannot think of any facility that was lacking. Beautiful bathroom. It was in a residential area, close to the station and all that Penzance has to offer. We parked in the road and did not use the car for the time we were there. Walked to Mousehole and took the stunning rail journey up to St Ives. Large living space for 5 people. Did not use sauna or laundry facilities at the back of the house, but they looked in good order. Can recommend if you don’t mind being away from the seafront.
