What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Holliday - Verified booking

Overall the actual cottage itself was fine and the hot tub was lovely, but we did request the superking bedroom setup and was given two singles, the toilet flush is temperamental at best, but most disappointing was the noise level. I appreciate it says in the description about it being a working farm and there may be associated agricultural noise but I really don't consider a jcb excavating tons of earth into a massive tipper lorry then spreading hard-core, then compacting this with a diesel roller from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and most of Friday as close as approx. 30 yards at times from the cottage to be an acceptable level of associated agricultural noise. In my opinion this is ground works/ building site noise, not normal Farm noise. Also driving a heavy tracked (JCB?) vehicle right past the bedroom window at 7.40 am one morning is not very considerate, we are supposed to be relaxing on holiday. I understand that farming is the owners core business but when you are charging hundreds of pounds for a holiday that people work for and look forward to I think it is unacceptable and very misleading to carry out this level of groundworks so close by. We only book properties with a hot tub and so spend a fair amount of time actually at the property rather than out and about, with this in mind we would not have booked this property had we known about the intrusive level of noise. Very disappointing.

5 Stars! Wonderful Cottage Escape! Our stay at Stable Cottage was just perfect! The wood burner added that cozy, warm touch, making every evening feel extra special as we relaxed by the crackling fire. The hot tub was such a treat – nothing better than unwinding in warm bubbles after a day of exploring. The wet room shower was fantastic too, with great water pressure and plenty of warmth! While there were no shops nearby, it honestly added to the charm. We felt completely secluded, surrounded by beautiful scenery in every direction. Nights were peaceful and quiet, with no light pollution, so the stars were absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking for a tranquil escape with all the cozy touches, this cottage is a dream. We’ll be back for sure!”

4 for cleanliness as you can see thick layers of dust on the spotlights and other out of reach areas. Overall it was good and very friendly. one major thing is the website never mentioned that we could not leave our pet in the property in which we found very hard as we would of liked to go out to dinner on some occasions without the dog. This needs to be mentioned when booking.

We rented all three cottages for a big family celebration, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable (thankful for the fans it was hot) We had everything that we could possibly have needed for cooking, washing and drying clothes. We made good use of the hot tub and the large green area outside. Lots to do in the beautiful surrounding areas.

Things we loved = the hot tub, the location was good. Easy access to Saxmundham for supermarkets etc. Close to Aldeburgh and Southwold etc. The Christmas Barn was nice for a wander. Good quality towels, comfy beds. Dishwasher tabs, tea towel, washing up liquid and scourer/dish cloth provided.
