What our customers say about their holidays

    • Linda - Verified booking

The Hyde most definitely deserves all the 5 star reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location was peaceful, surrounded by fields with easy access to Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick as well as the Cotswolds, a real gateway for lots of exploring, with some lovely villages in easy reach with fantastic pubs/eateries. The property itself was amazing, fantastic decor and spec throughout, the beds were super comfortable - best nights sleep ever - both bedrooms with lovely en suite bathrooms. The downstairs was lovely a cosy, with everything you could want for a break away from home and a gorgeous log burner. The hot tub was clean and well maintained, with views over the field and surrounded by twinkling lights, fantastic end to the days. The stars of the show were most definitely the hosts, from the welcome gifts, the service, the recommendations for local meals and even driving us to a pharmacy when our daughter was poorly. Both Simon and Averil went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay, without being intrusive. Our family does lots of these breaks and I can honestly say this has been my favourite - thank you both for being awesome, we will definitely be back!

Its is certainly not an easy road to negotiate to get to the cottage, and how people claim it is an 'easy' walk to the pub not sure why they are trying to kid.

The lane is nothing more than a very steep dirt track so narrow you cannot open the car doors and you risk damaging your car every time you make the journey. The cottage itself is vey difficult to find neither it or the five bar gate you are told to find are visible from the road, and the cottage does not have a name or number on it. Because of the difficult journey to and from the cottage we felt almost like prisoners - we went out in the morning and returned later - we daren't risk the journey any more times. The cottage was quite dark - even with lights on - and the stairs were steep, narrow, slippery, twisted at the bottom and were further complicated by having helmets & lamps hung along the wall, which made holding on difficult. There was very little information in the cottage and we could not find the NHS QR scan. On the plus side the cottage was clean and there was a secure yard for the dogs.

What an amazing property with amazing views.

The best cottage we have had the privilege to stay in,a great find which ticked all the boxes . Very cosy clean cottage ,lovely hot tub and log fire, not forgetting the relaxing spa bath it had everything even Netflix so u could have a cosy night in front of the fire watching a great movie enjoying a beer, heaven .Lovely walks straight from your door, lovely pub and shop just down the road ,really friendly people. Our 2 dogs had a fantastic time, they were very fascinated with the farm animals that were grazing in the field right next to our garden, cows sheep rabbits, fantastic. We had lovely walks and was very lucky with the weather, would definitely return and recommend .The cottage had everything you needed and a delicious cake was waiting for us on our arrival, thank you so much for that, really kind, looking forward to returning.

My family and I had a lovely week at The Wilderness and want to leave a positive review as this place deserves it.

It was incredibly clean and tidy, beds are really.comfy, kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need and more and the surroundings are stunning. The cottage is right at the top of the road and if you come to a log cabin you have gone too far..its the house before that and the name of the cottage is actually in the wall. Yes the gravel path is long but just drive carefully and slowly and you should be fine. Only slight downside was that the hot tub got nasty grime marks around the outside after Only 2 uses and we all showered before we got in, so not sure what happened there but we didn't want to use it after that and was a bit gutted. The jacuzzi bath and shower are lovely and also the log burner was a lovely treat. All in all a wonderful time was had by all and we were sad to leave.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, so lovely decorated and had everything you could need.

We had planned a few things but ended up staying at the cottage the entire time. We had a cake baked on arrival, a bottle of fizz on the table and a cozy warm cottage to walk into. The courtyard is so cute with tubs of fresh herbs and a beautiful tree that lights up next to the hottub. Leading you into the kitchen and dining room. The owner has thought of pretty much everything for your stay, even Yorkshire pudding tins (always missing in ever cottage we’ve been too) and shot glasses. There’s loads of books and games in the living room for you to use and a cute log burner to keep that cozyness going. 2 beautiful bedrooms both en-suite upstairs. Definitely gonna rebook and bring my parents for the weekend. Thanks for everything. James and Lee
