What our customers say about their holidays

    • Minati - Verified booking

The property is situated in an excellent location, minutes away from the sea and sand.

And having a designated parking facility was a great help. We felt the owner has put a lot of thought into what makes a good holiday home, especially for a family. - Upon arrival, we found a welcome gift which was so touching. - Very clean and spacious place. - Comfortable beds with plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. - The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of utensils and saucepans. We were pleasantly surprised to also see the provision of plastic cups and bowls for young children to use. - The dishwasher was a lifesaver with 2 children to look after. (From past holidays we knew that things like toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and bin bags are provided to cover for a couple of days, then it is the guest’s responsibility to buy more. So we were prepared for that). - Many extras were provided during our stay: Beach towels (in addition to the towels in the rooms), Family board games (which we really looked forward to in the evenings) Bucket and spade (which my son was delighted with). Foldable clothes airer - Loved the different pieces of art works around the property; the wall hangings and seaside models. - Very good wifi, although phone signal can be weak depending on the network provider so used Whatsapp to make most of our calls. - We think this property makes use of a system boiler with a tank. So while the water pressure is amazing, once the amount of hot water runs out from the tank, you will have to wait for the boiler to heat more. We found that a full tank was sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children to take a shower one after another, but not when someone takes a bath. Whilst this property is not advertised for disabled people, we just wanted to add that we have a daughter who is completely reliant on her wheelchair. Because the property was on the ground floor with the patio door opening to the front, it made things much easier when bringing her in and out of the property. Also, the sofa was large enough for us to keep her comfortably seated in one corner with plenty of cushions to support her. And the carpet was a very good size to give her body a good stretch and exercises. There is the Fisherman’s Walking path which takes you to the sand area. It took us about 8 minutes walking to get there. And whilst the path is wheelchair accessible, the route back can be quite steep to push a wheelchair so we would recommend using the Fisherman’s Walk Cliff Lift which is open till about 5pm. If you want a wheelchair person to enjoy more of the beach, then we recommend traveling to Boscombe Pier. There you will find a Mobi mat installed on the sand (on Undercliff Drive close to the roundabout), which allows the wheelchair person to get closer to the sea but still being on the sand. And if they want to be in the actual water, then you can hire a beach wheelchair from the Boscombe Seafront Office. Recommendations: - To have details of the nearest laundry in the guest book. We use google to search for everything but for those who may not have a smartphone would benefit from this information. - Another clothes airer for the other bedroom would be really nice. - The only thing that was a bit awkward in the property was the bathroom basin. It is a really spacious bathroom, so we were surprised at the very narrow basin. It is sufficient for washing hands but not washing the face. We think this was probably something installed by the developer across all the flats in the block rather than the individual owners. A slightly bigger basin would make it brilliant.

This was our first visit to Bournemouth since our honeymoon 49 years ago and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

The house was exactly as expected with the bonus of the use of the garage so we were able to keep our car safe thank you. The house was very clean and had every thing we needed for our stay including a brilliant washer dryer which I used a couple of times. The only down side was the lounge suite was a bit uncomfortable it would have been better if the seat backs were higher for support but it didnt spoil things. It was great that we had a nice big garden to chill out in and wasnt overlooked so really quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of places to eat and a supermarket is easy to get to so no worries finding provisions. It was great that the buses were easy to find and really frequent so no need to drive everywhere and we could use our bus passes. I would definatly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday near the sea.

Mary Bowes Terrace exceeded our expectations.

It was a great base for a family holiday; especially being so close to the beach. We had a lovely week and found the apartment to be very comfortable, clean and well kept with lovely decor. We appreciated the fresh bread, jam and milk on arrival and the ‘forget-me-not’ basket with useful items. Our children also made good use of the ‘boogie boards’ and beach equipment - a nice touch. Having our own parking space right outside and being able to load/ unload through the patio doors made arriving/ departing so much easier. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this apartment to couples and families alike. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

We had a great stay and our minor difficulties (power short due to toaster and working out how the heating worked) were sorted very quickly by a responsive owner (thank you!

) Having easy access to car park via patio door was a real bonus for my octogenarian parents too. Location was excellent - we visited Poole (highly recommend the pub for fish lunch), Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood etc - all within short drives. If I can make a positive observation, I think a few more instructions in the “manual” would be a good addition. Especially relating to heating (manual/automatic settings etc), TV (we struggled to get terrestrial Live TV, but eventually found ITV via ITVX), recycling eg glass? What to do ref linen - ie strip beds or not?

Had a lovely relaxing holiday here.

An ideal location on a quiet road. We appreciated being able park right outside our flat to be able to unload our luggage via the patio doors. There is a bench on the patio if you want to sit out. Inside was very homely, clean and comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen. I think the bed was a small double but comfy. It took a little while to sort out the heating and like others had some difficulty finding programmes on the TV. We thought it was a little too high on the wall, at least for us anyway. Overall, a lovely property in a good location.
